General Rob Dickie & Elliott Moore

in that case yes, but they transfer list every player that has one year left on their deals
But he will have left for nothing (apart from a loan fee). It just shows that in a game where 2 or 3 year deals are the norm, it's very difficult to call it right with selling or keeping players.

I agree. Was more pointing out that this is the general policy that Peterborough have. As we know, they have high valuations of their players and a chairman that is willing to play hard ball knowing that he may lose out on money in the long run but in return keep a a player who benefits the team.

How good would it be if there was only a summer transfer and the minimum contracts would be 3 year deals?

He was, but to be fair the defence was under very little pressure for the majority of the match. Let's see how he does at Ipswich, which will be a far sterner test. (I actually have every confidence that he will do well there as well, I think he has been unlucky not to start more often)

£4-£5m more realistic ...plus proverbial add ons . Problem is (IMO) while L1/L2 clubs, OUFC board included, as demonstrated in Jan , as well as with Whyte, continue to roll over and allow Championship /PL clubs to perform financial rape on them, ( Both PL & Champ sides get obscene amounts of £ from TV companies), by accepting speculatively low offers for players. Nothing wrong with the sell on for a profit model (if the timing is right) , however until OUFC board learn how to play hardball in negotiations, instead of undervaluing the (proven- how long till OUFC got a win in 2020 ?) effect of disrupting a winning team has, as well as underpricing 'our' assets, aspiration & ambition of genuine progression, in real terms as spouted by Board members is just PR spin. As KR has asked, the Board need to think and act like a big club, and the sooner the better.

Quite.

1 million tops for a league 1 central defender with a year left on his contract in the summer.

Pompey sold a centre half for £3.5m and add-ons last summer who was in exactly the same contract situation. And the rumours of PL Southampton and Burnley being interested wouldn't rule that out happening again if a bidding war starts but we could get less, who knows.

Not exactly the same. Pompey's defender will be under 24 at the end of this season so they were always entitled to some compensation. Dickie will be a free transfer come 2021 as he will be 24.

Here's a thing how about Rob Dickie sign a new 3yr contract NOW and agree that he will not leave for less than 3 mill. He shows gratitude towards us for believing in him and he still has a chance of a good move.
