Current Player Retained List 24/25

What would be a price you wouldn’t turn down for Goodrham? £4 million for me, although I might be being optimistic on the amount.

£1,500,000 with a sell on and I’d think ourselves as being lucky.

He’s impacted very few games at this level and is easily bullied. It’s telling that in a team that has struggled for points, he has been unable to do enough to force his way in and keep the shirt.

He may well kick on but I don’t think it will be with us.

Jesus Christ.

If he’s only going for that then we’ve seriously missed out on the 5m+ bids we’ve been receiving (didn’t we receive 7m from Leeds?)

Not sure we've ever had any bids. There has been a lot of interest in Tyler from a number of clubs, and I think that he's still young enough for them to take a gamble of him. He has struggled to find a role within a Rowett team. But I think there was enough pre-Christmas to show that he could have a decent career at this level or beyond.

That seems low but I don't actually have a clue what we can realistically expect in the position we are currently at, in league one you had a rough idea as we spent a long enough time there to have a precedent. I suppose it depends on how many teams are interested, that might push the price up, but thinking on it I doubt we would turn down any offer on or over £2 million, we have positions we can spend that money on.

Conjecture.

Would you be happy if we signed a player for as much as £1,500,000 who's played 38 games as a wide forward/10, and contributed 3 goals and 4 assists? I'm not sure i would.

I like him and i think he has potential, but there is little to suggest that he has 'made' it at this level yet. A player with potential, but i don't think we will see clubs queuing up to pay a kings ransom for him.

At Blackburn he played as well as anyone, maybe the best performance of any the squad this season.

You’ll be delighted to know we’ll be getting far more than £1.5 million should he go this summer. The enquiries we had from two clubs currently in the Championship top 10 were close to double that figure.

Great if the clubs come through. Any more dough would be a bonus for a player that is unproven at the level.

Eastwood has signed an extension pre Xmas, maybe even when Des was still here. He and the club happy with his squad role (no idea why not announced)
Just noticed this was listed amongst the deals that saw agent fees paid. Feels an odd one unless there's going to be an official coaching position announced.
He's unregistered, well and truly 4th choice now, and Knightbridge is used as the 3rd choice who is with the squad on a matchday. Perhaps everyone just happy with a 'training keeper' type role.

We've got a lot of GKs on pro deals
Cumming
Ingram
Knightbridge
Eastwood
Brearey
Monty Marriott was given a third year scholar last summer but no idea if still around as other than the announcement of a loan at North Leigh in August. It has been quiet and he hasn't played in the few U21/23 games there have been

Who in the squad would command a chunky transfer fee? Looking through the squads of teams possibly relegated, most of them have a few assets.

Outside of Cummings and Brown, I'm not sure many Championship clubs would be parting with big money to sign any of our squad (as it stands)

Was in talks about a “training keeper / mentor” type role before Buckingham left. I assume that’s what it ended up being.

I don't think it would even have to be a chunky transfer fee to get Findlay's signature, a standard KitKat would seal the deal.
Four fingers of course. One for every year of his contract.

Also I once met someone who told me they ate a four finger KitKat like this:

Must admit I thought it was odd, but I've tried it and I think it's better.

No chance with Nelson, I'm afraid. Chelsea are in for him. Which probably means they'll sign him for £15-20M, give him a five year contract at £100K/week. And then stick him in the reserves.
Or loan him to us with them paying most of his wages.

He is definitely a victim of the Rowett style - was having a decent season until then.
His sending off to me was the changer
After that he hasn't been himself.
I have no idea why Tyler should look so poor in a Rowett system? He has been played in the 10 role and wide left.
Before his sending off, he played in the team under Rowett against Cardidlff Plymouth Milwall, Preston - 10 points from 4 games where he played well.
I don't agree that he is such an inflexible player that he can't come with a change in system

I'm not actually sure he played that well under Rowett pre Exeter either tbh. We had Cardiff fan relatives with us at Christmas, and I told them to look out for him as potentially our best player before the Boxing day match, but tbh he was nothing special that day in a good team performance.

Agree and that’s why I don’t think he’ll move on this summer.

He’s got aspirations to play as high as possible and has had a good half a season at Championship level, but has he done enough that another club at our level would be willing to pay millions for him? I’m not sure.

There’s no point selling him on the cheap when he has the potential to be a very good player and no point him dropping down a level.

Rowett’s football isn’t a great fit for him at the minute, but add a forward who can hold it up and another winger with the pace to stretch teams, and Tyler (and Dembele actually) could really benefit.

Maybe if he looked at his own performance instead of getting the bottom lip out, then he may get back to his former standing and potential. He's been a passenger since Christmas.

Tyler has probably been the biggest victim of the change of manager.

One of the first names on the team sheet towards the end of last season and the start of this, and just about nailed on in one of the 8/10 positions under Buckingham.

But with the change in formation and Rowett seeming to favour players with a bit more physicality in the single 10 role - Rodrigues, Romeney and Phillips are all bigger, and Matos has more bite in the tackle - Tyler hasn’t really had a look in in that position, and Dembele and Placheta have the pace Rowett seems to want on the wings.

I think the best chance he has of starting games under Rowett is if/when we play with 3 CBs and wing backs. I think he and Romeny ahead of Vaulks and Cam in a box midfield would be very good fun, but that formation doesn’t get the best out of players like Placheta, who’s one of our key points of difference.

Impossible to tell whether his limited performances have meant he’s got less game time or vice versa, but it’s probably something of a cycle.

I’d love him to stay and prove himself in what will hopefully be a slightly more open side next season.

So I think Tyler is running at 0.23 G+A per 90 minutes at the moment.

It's not world-beating, but it is better than the likes of Joe Gelhardt, Hannibal, Alfie Dougherty, Lewis Koumas and Giorgi Chakvetadze......to name just a few attacking midfielders and forwards that I bet you wouldn't get for £1,500,000.

Hell Kyle Joseph cost more than £2m, and he still hasn't contributed to a Hull goal yet!

Until we sell someone at this level we won’t have a base figure to work from, I think we all knew roughly what players would go for in league one as we had sold a few players, it’s a guess what our what Waldron, Williams and our owners, who have the final say, will be expecting at this level.

Is that the Welsh spelling?

Our defence is clearly not good enough just look at our goal difference
Our goal difference would be markedly worse without our defenders, given the number of goals they have scored for us this season.
