As previously the figures have, throughout each year, decreased and risen for all kinds of reasons.
One gang gets arrested, goes quiet, another takes their place etc etc. The rewards are high so is the temptation.
Only a few weeks ago a single boat carrying 230 people arrived.......... you don`t need many of them to keep the score up.

Year ending March 2026, there were 43,806 detected arrivals via illegal routes.

If you are happy there are 43,806 undocumented, unknown folk wandering the streets of the UK then crack on.

I`ll be happy when the only people arriving here are legal, documented and decent folk.

Maybe it's because these gangs are getting arrested and fewer are taking their place is one of the reasons why numbers are dropping. More good news.

What's better? One boat carry 230, or a dozen boats carrying 30 or 40? If your only issue is numbers then why does it matter how many are on each boat?

People entering the UK illegally have, by default, broken our laws.
That means they have disregard for our way of life and how our society works.
Simply put a lot of people do not want that sort of person here.

Although I suppose having more criminals to lock up keeps you busy..........

Well, yeah, the tories underfunded the prison system, underfunded the police, underfunded the military, underfunded the NHS ... They did overspend on PPE though...

I don't think people understand just how close we came to having our prisons and wider criminal justice systems completely fail in the dying days of the Tories.

In the 9 months before the General Election, over 10,000 prisoners were released early and yet there were barely a couple of hundred spaces within the total capacity (today there is around 1500). Police were ordered not to pursue outstanding warrants and court cases were being deferred to later dates so anyone convicted could be imprisoned.

And this didn't take into consideration that there were several hundred cells were being used when they should have been decommissioned, because they were no longer fit for purpose, being used. And rebuilding and emergency accomodation projects were stopped because there was no money.

I don't think Labour have got everything right, far from it. And this current Early Release programme has been a complete mess. But when the Tories went all Scorched Earth on this and other public services, it will take years to rebuild.

So why post about the borrowing figures under Labour if that is your response as it is just numbers on a spreadsheet? 🤷‍♂️

Total UK exports to Russia amounted to ÂŁ1.3 billion in the four quarters to the end of Q1 2026

Are you suggesting we should stop all imports and exports with Israel as well as otherwise I don't see why you've responded to a comment about Israel with the above?
