Those sound like choices. You dont have to get married i didn't as I don't want to risk loosing what I worked hard for. And too many people blame their class for just choosing to be uneducated. I am working class from two manual labourer parents but still educated myself financially. Again raising a family is a choice too and choosing employment as a mobile hairdresser. Why should the state pay for peoples choices? Bring on meritocracy bring on accountability. You make your bed you lie in it. You want to retire stick some money in a pension each month dont rely on the state.
The trouble is if everyone lives like you, single and no family then society collapses, so no state anyway?
The state pension is a problem which needs solving but not by people living in such fear of being poor in old age that they for go living while they are young (which if everyone did would destroy the economy anyway).
People who can work longer will just have to do that, can’t say it bothers me, don’t fancy sitting around watching shite on tv all day anyway, state pension will just have to be given out later in life, probably when people turn seventy or later.
