National Politics 🔴 The Labour Party

Me, worrying? You're the one complaining about have £100 pa of winter fuel allowance 'nicked' off you. If you're not worried maybe you shouldn't be getting the money in the first place.
Nobody should get any money you want to retire you save for it, want to stay warm plan for it or get a coat. State pension, pension credit and winter fuel allowance should all go. i dont object to spunking money up the wall on immigrants i object to it for all people.

Arrogance

Exactly.

We should be given the choice of opting out of state pension and be able to invest the equivalent NI ourselves (opting out of SERPS went part way toward this back in the day). The issue with that of course is that many people still wouldn't do so because they either can't think that far ahead beyond managing day to day, do not have sufficient understanding to invest (probably getting shafted by some cowboy adviser in the process), or just prefer to live for today and spend what they have.

Fundamentally though, to be comfortable in retirement and to not get overheated about losing a few hundred quid a year as a result of politics, people need to plan, save and budget accordingly. This needs to start from the moment they take their first job and become habitual, otherwise it just gets put off until its too late.

I can't count how many conversations I have had with 45-50 year old's who still tell me they have made very little pension provision. One in particular tells me that part of his plan is to cut costs in his retirement by giving up smoking. When I demonstrated to him the sort of investment and return he could achieve if he tried to stop now and invested the same money into a pension for the next 20-25 years he just looked at me as though I was from another planet.

Bonkers.

Isn’t in law now that employers have to provide pension schemes for employees?

They do but you can also opt out, if you wish.

But this certainly has to be the start of taking the heat out of state pension in many years to come.

I wouldn't be surprised to see private health care become some sort of legal requirement of employment in future.

At the end of the day State Pension is a huge Ponzi Scheme and so is a real problem to unwind.

Until they merge Tax and NI and remove this so called contribution entitlement, the process of phasing it out for higher income households will be difficult.

And an appeal to the feckless........... breed more = earn more.

Don`t worry we`ll rinse the taxpayer for it.
They'll tax my salary sacrifice in order to pay for it too, scumbags, tax anyone that does alright for themselves and give it to those who refuse to make life choices based on what they themselves can afford.

Got no issue with people who physically cannot look after themselves without help getting support from the state, I'd love for them to get more support, but the number of f*****g freeloaders in our benefit system is absolutely wild.

A very good sum up.
I’ve always believed in the 80/20 factor. 80% of the population supporting those that won’t work hard

This is my number one thing if i was chancellor. NI should just be added to income tax. It would be a massive simplification of the tax system and bring all income into income tax be that capital gains, landlord income or pensions income or whatever.

Deliberately controversial language.
You certainly are a piece of work and suffer from tunnel vision .

That's not "controversial" the fact of the matter is we have too many people taking out of a system way more than they put in.

If you want 1 or 2 kids that is fine, grows population and the like, but once you get into 3,4,5 you are stretching anyones resources and ability so it is your choice to do so and you shouldn`t expect the taxpayer to fund it.

We already have lessons for kids to brush their teeth, potty training at schools, breakfast clubs etc etc............ wtf are the parents doing?

Moany old twats like you are going to need someone to wipe their arses before too long. And because you have a problem with it being someone from outside the UK who talks, looks and/or prays funny, then those of breeding age in the UK better start getting busy and banging out the sprogs to ultimately save you from wallowing in your own faeces as you prepare to shuffle off this mortal coil.

In less controversial language, we have a significant and worsening birth rate problem and a significant and worsening ageing population problem in the UK. You lot are costing us a fortune. It's also part of the reason we need immigration going forward. That and making work pay.

And the reason we have kids that can't wipe their own arses or use cutlery, or know what a vegetable looks like . . . is largely down to the feckless parents that YOUR boomer generation raised and have inflicted on society. Spoiled, entitled, molly-coddled, self-obsessed, whiney imbeciles with no gumption, no stamina, no drive to better themselves or provide a safe and stable upbringing for their kids. Well done, you must be proud :ROFLMAO:

Yes you are 1 million per cent right I’m retired and I pay tax each month do I begrudge paying , not at all as long as it’s not spent on benefits that the person that’s claiming then is not gambling, drinking or supporting there drug addiction!

Us lot have paid into the system - now its your turn. :)

As for kids - no thanks, we prefer nice holidays and a comfortable lifestyle.

Things started going wrong when the soft liberals decided children have more rights than social responsibility.

That generation then amplified it to the next and in about 3 steps the games gone.

As MrsEY(Mk2) says its a generation of halfwits breeding a generation of quarter wits and its decreasing rapidly.

As for population growth its not environmentally sustainable and just drives the consumerist ponzi scheme. ;)

AI is about to kill jobs. Those in jobs that get obsoleted had better get used to wiping backsides and doing those jobs immigrants do. Brits would do those jobs if it was a choice of do them or starve. Or wages rise in those sectors to draw people away from nail bars and hospitality (which has grown much too large). Without immigration jobs that need to be done would have to raise their labour rates taking jobs away from the less useful parts of the economy.

And yes an economy that relies on population growth is a ponzi scheme. Im going out this evening in a jacket i brought 18 years ago wearing a barbour hat brought 25 years ago driving an 11 year old car not much for consumerism or growth but great for the planet.

Careful, you're slipping out of character.
Yes I am , probably because I have a split personality holding a gun in one hand and the bible in the other. I’m listening to Brain damage to much . You old sausage !

Buy once, buy quality.

Just got my Barbour back from the factory cleaned, rewaxed, tidied up and looking like new.

AI will be doing my job in 5 years, which is great because I won`t be. :)

The biggest problem is people living to long, just kill everyone over the age of 60, would provide work for even the laziest as it’s not going to be particularly hard to hunt them down so if you turn down that job you get culled to. Slash the welfare and NHS bills over night, won’t need immigrants either as we won’t need many people looked after or as many cleaners because less things will smell like p**s.

I guess it's so obvious that this will be streamed live that there was no point in stating it?

Selling the rights for it will more than cover the costs, the Saudis are even offering to host it as part of Saudi season, Des Buckingham to do some punditry work.

I was just going to post something similar.

Anyone who simultaneously complains about all of:

a) Immigration
b) Population Growth
c) Increase in the national pension age, and
d) Child Benefits

must be a big advocate for geronticide, because there really ain't any other way to make the maths work........
