National Politics 🔴 The Labour Party

The poppy is a symbol of remembrance in football, hardly a 'political' statement is it?

Not like taking the knee for a campaign which openly called to defund the police and impose marxism. I've never heard anyone in this country say they care about rainbow armbands, although I imagine there are a few fringe people.

Without wanting to digress, Remembrance Sunday still is a political statement, albeit one 99% of us have no problem getting behind - it's even one of those rare events where all the main political leaders get behind it. Last year, Northern Irish First Minister Michelle O'Neill has become the first senior Sinn Féin figure to take part in an official Remembrance Sunday ceremony. 100 relatives of victims of the Troubles from the Republican community in County Tyrone hit out at her decision, so it is certainly a political issue - whatever your feelings may be.

Taking the knee is about standing up to racism. Although it was originally to do with BLM, the FA changed that in order to encompass all forms of racism.

Tice's bird Isabel Oakschitt recently tweeted a message saying the rainbow armband has no place in football. I think the general gist from homophobes is 'they are forcing it down on our throats', and of course Reform is a natural home for racists and homophobes, which is why she, Farage, Tice, Lowe are frequently vocal on it - same with taking the knee.

It is just unbelievable that the wrong person could be released, surely there are plenty of checks and balances in place to stop this. Just how often does this actually happen? Not just 'foreigners', I mean for all prisoners?

Bloody incredible that it ever happens. It is not as if the prison service is a relatively new regime with new procedures to learn and develop ie: making sure a bloody criminal is released at the correct time.

After the previous high profile cock up didn't they put new measures in place? or was this before they came into effect?

Anyway, I sure sure someone will tell us how it really is and we shouldn't be alarmed.

Well its freeing up prison spaces............. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Probably why Lammy wouldn`t answer in PMQ`s..................... 🤷‍♂️

No wonder Lammy didn’t answer the question about foreign prisoners mistakenly released and threw a hissy fit.
Another one has been released by Wandsworth.
Why didn’t Lammy get prosecuted for having no fishing rod licence recently when he recently went fishing with the USA vice president? Anyone else gets hit with a big fine
Eh?

Perhaps you'd better ask the Environment Agency how may people they actually prosecute for not having a rod licence

You're sounding awfully triggered by everything Lammy does, Peter. Does he get right up your nose?

He can’t help but get up my nose and others too.
My brother who is a keen fisherman said that several anglers have been fined for not having rod licences often running into the thousands of pounds.
Lammy refused to answer the question today in the Commons and behaved like an animated badly behaved child.
He clearly knew what had happened today as did the Conservative spokesman

No need............ info freely available.

Prosecution Statistics
2023: The EA conducted 33,684 licence checks, issued 1,638 offence reports, and successfully concluded 739 prosecutions for various offences, with a 100% prosecution success rate.
2021-2022: Enforcement officers checked over 41,000 fishing licences and successfully prosecuted 726 anglers for fishing without a licence.

Glad to help.

I wonder what Labour or their supporters might have said if these prisoner early releases were happening with a conservative government.

I think the going rate is around £1000 from what I heard. Is that correct?

At least..............

“Fishing illegally can incur a fine of up to £2,500, and offenders can also have their fishing equipment seized. We inspect rod licences 24/7, 7 days a week to check on cases of illegal fishing, and for those caught cheating the system, we will always prosecute.

Of course Mr Lammy "just forgot".............. or thought the law doesn`t apply to the Justice Secretary.

🤷‍♂️

Why didn’t they have licences ?

It's sad but true that they will blame whomever they can for their ineptitude.

He "forgot".................... allegedly.......
I’m sure we could try that excuse and it would work. Bit like Rachel Reeves with her licence recently, although she appears to have levelled that one on the letting agents….couldnt blame Brexit or the last government for that one

“ We will ensure taxes of working people are kept as low as possible, Labour will not increase taxes on working people which is why we will not increase national insurance the basic higher or additional rates of income tax or VAT. “

Dug yourself bit of a hole Rachel…..

Labour is a natural home for the inept and misguided.
