Did Oxvox challenge this?

Who’s fault is this? The club stated it would be in December and I’m sure that’s what CDC would have told them.

I’m not happy about it and for once it’s not the Lib Dem’s/ Greens dragging their heels.

Is it that we need more time to fully answer all those objections? if it is just say so Oxvox or is it a question of not paying the consultants?

If we didn’t pay Sunderland and some bonuses have not been paid as has been mentioned on other threads and our CEO is missing and there is a fiasco around ST’s and they won’t pay the price of a decent midfielder when they have pumped millions into the planning something is amiss

The club in their most recent comms on 20th June about it said early 2025

"Following requests from Oxfordshire County Council and Cherwell District Council for additional information and studies, Oxford United can confirm it now expects the planning application for its new stadium proposal to be considered in early 2025."

Where has it come from that we wont pay the price for a decent midfielder?!

Not paying consultants is a rumor that was mentioned after the non payment to Sunderland, as was the rumor about non payment of bonuses which surprisingly has gone very quiet. If the club hadn't have paid bonus's which were due then it would certainly get spoken more about on here than it has done.

That said, it would be good to know why the sudden delay by 7 months. Is it purely down the traffic model?

It was suggested that the traffic modeling took 3 to 4 months and then there was a consultation period of month I believe.
Then I guess it is up to the appropriate next Council meeting.

Steve
It’s in the Oxvox statement about the temporary stand
Presume that statement was from the club but as I say I think that’s a load of b*****s

What was said in the OxVox statement was that the cost of a temporary stand would be the same as paying for a top quality midfielder. That is very different to saying the club wont pay for a top class midfielder.

The cost would be made it up if we filled in the rest of the season. Seems a cop out for me.

Not saying they won’t pay for a top midfielder I’m saying that they used that as a comparison in price
My point is that they forked out that much to pay off KR and then compensation from Des
So the club could afford a new stand

That wasnt what was suggested.
It sounds as if there would be large losses even if we did sell out ( Kassam was allegedly asking for £50k.per game).
Somebody was suggesting that some if the stand would have to be taken down after games and put up again due to the motor cycle contract with Kassam?
We don't know without knowing a lot more about what is required

There is a difference between being able to afford it and it making finical sense and affording it but getting ripped off.

If we got the temporary stand then it would be the latter.

Yes I agree with that but why not come out and say that.
Very easy
We’ve looked into the possibility of a new stand but the cost of maintaining it providing facilities and general upkeep made it unviable”
Don’t even have to say that the main reason is that the greedy c**t Kassam want far too much extra rent and that is the real reason

It is likely to be Kassam, but I agree.
The communication is dreadful.
Presumably either TW returns or there is another CEO, but whatever- it needs to happen quickly as there seems to be a total void.

I despise Kassam. However, I don’t think it was him who’s stopped this from happening.

The club not having the correct structure in place to get everything signed and ready for the start of the season without risks of things going wrong.

We seem to have the correct structure needed to get several players contracts signed off, but couldn't get a temporary stand signed off?

I accept that but they could still have it there after the first few games we would keep it until we have to leave
I actually think it’s a bit of both here Kassam being awkward and the club being completely incompetent

Ed and Des do all the leg work when it comes to signings and the board sign of the contracts.

The stand would require dedication from someone to do all the planning, liaise with the authorities and EFL and Kassam. Which would take up alot of their time. Obviously with the threat of a transfer embargo, a CEO gone missing and other factors like having to update the floodlights it just never happened.
