Recent club communication

Something the club could (and in my view, should) have done is to put an official update on the OWS. It has been a month since the last one.

Whatever we think of the responses etc, those of us on here and OxVox members will know what was discussed, the reassurances etc the chairman gave on the Teams meeting. There are many OUFC supporters who are not on here and who are not members of OxVox - how are they supposed to have heard that there even was a meeting - never mind what the content was?

Although such a statement might only be along the lines of 'I met with OxVox and FSB in order to discuss the situation. I was able to reassure them that this is only a temporary situation, the owner is still fully behind the club, etc etc etc'. Then everyone can be reassured (or not) and the support as a whole is being kept informed. The fact that nothing has been posted does give the impression that not mentioning it (until it is hopefully solved) is the strategy - which is not good.

some communication to the whole fanbase instead of Oxvox, maybe showing his actual face for a starter. the oxvox notes state he will be emailing them the comms plan within a few days. Did they get it? Dusan made it clear to judge him on his actions and i see no action to the urgent fan engagement issue so far. appreciate there is a lot going on but some simple comms doesnt take up much time. he could have gone on the dub and been interviwed, just to say hello and let us know what he sounds like.

This is why I would have liked some clear targets to work to in order to "test" this commitment to better comms.

I can't believe that we haven't had formal comms issued by the club to all supporters across all platforms. I can't remember from the initial details of Dusan being appointed, but has there even been an official club photo of our chairman?

He's been in post three months and the vast majority of fans will have absolutely no idea who he is, let alone what his expectations are for the coming season and beyond (let alone all the immediate embargo/stadium stuff!).

"It's only a week, what do you expect?"

Well its been 3 months, and I expect a damn sight more!

No photo, no interview (although that might be explained if Ryan Maher doesn't know who he is either)

Things will change once all the ducks are lined up. Trouble is we live in an "everything now" world.

Stadium news - investment - embargo gone............ you won`t be able to keep up with news.

But there will always be an upcoming game, so we'll now be in a situation where we can't put anything up because we don't want to distract from the the first league/home game, the transfer window closing, Reading, Christmas etc etc.

I'm not particularly needy (although I guess others should judge!) and there was nothing in the recent OxVox update that I didn't already know (and had posted most on here!) BUT I am not the only Oxford United fan. There are around 8000 fans who attended the last home game who will not be OxVox members (based on 10,000 home attendance to 2,000 members). And I would guess that there will be many of these who don't read the forum or some of the information that makes it out on to Social Media.

And lets not forget that this all came from the one and only meeting with the Chair of OxVox, his replacement, and the the Chair of FAB.

This isn't a dig at them, I trust that they are acting in the best interest of us fans.

But is that really enough from our football club?

On WATG they talked about Dusan coming to the UK next week and supposedly moving here too, so hopefully the communications will improve

With TW (presumably?) on the way out, it is totally wrong that Ramsey has to field the ( reasonable) questions

I'm sorry, but a statement to ALL fans can be issued from anywhere in the world, as can video messages.

This is nothing to do with location and everything to do with intent.

I’ve sent Tim a couple of emails on ceo@oufc.co.uk but haven’t heard back. The email appears to work so maybe a few more of you could use it - make sure you’re polite and grammatical!
 
Is it worth it, he won’t bow down to pressure from supporters nor will any other member of the board.
Regrettably, we have to go on the things we do know, I.e. the Mills and BdK and what is happening in or out so I personally take the worst option, both out , I would be pleasantly surprised if we retain the services of one over the moon if we retain both !
The embargo, it is what it is , through irresponsible spending , via past managers and club management, however Erik was stupid enough not to have more hands on as to how his money was being spent and put trust in close friends, keep your enemies close but your friends closer .
Sorry Erik the blame lies at your door , you loose all control when your based hundreds of miles away, in my opinion your interests in the name of Oxford and being part of it is now becoming irrelevant, my question is deep down inside, are you still as enthusiastic about our club as when you first took over ?
All we want is assurances nothing more or less.

I mean, arguably we've had that from both Dusan and Ramsey, who have told us the owners are still invested and not looking to leave. Whether you choose to believe them is up to you, but those assurances you want have been given to you. I guess that you are asking for more, than?

We have been given assurances which were pretty unambiguously phrased. What we need is just more communication in general, ideally in the form of videos from Tim and Dusan showing they do actually exist.

Why is video required though? Does the medium in which the assurances are given to us make it more true than another? Does format dictate truth? Have things become more true as technology has developed? Is this the order of truth?
