The forum would encourage all members to consider joining OxVox during this important moment in our history. See here for more information.
secondedPut this in the cancelled AGM thread, apologies. Copy and paste here:
Just came back here to say well done OxVox for a good update and a good open letter to the club. As I read through my anger heightened when I saw that Dusan had cancelled the planned meeting. It is only slightly simmered down reading the asterisk update that Tim and Dusan are now scrambling to provide a response.
Please keep this pressure up on both Dusan and Tim. They need to understand that the communication is awful at every level and they need to provide answers, not glib brush offs, in reply to each of the points in the letter.
I hope to see more updates of this kind from OxVox, as well as more of this kind of transparency over cancelled meetings etc. Fans need to know if the leadership are treating OxVox with disdain too, as that points to even wider problems.
True. In that scenario I'd expect Dusan to say to OxVox one of the following two versions (ideally number 2, but accept that 1 is more likely):Not to defend them, but if s**t really has hit the fan I would expect the SMT to be fully focused on and spending every waking minute trying to mitigate the effects rather than giving statements. If Bogdanovic's London meeting could have been helpful to OUFC, then it's well worth postponing OxVox for. It doesn't necessarily mean fans are being treated with disdain.
I don't know the answer to this, but would make a guess! Can Oxvox confirm whether the targeted call with Tim Williams took place ?
These statements only have a shelf life of 5 years then have to be renewed. If a sale/divestment process is triggered then a 6 month moratorium might preclude certain bidders. I know this only too well from current process of said divestment of the KCC windmills. Is the KasStad still an asset of community value? Might be worth knowing if things quickly deteriorate.
Very distressing for everyone.Another day of collective silence![]()
I would hope OxVox could keep a more regular communication up with the fans at this time. An excellent letter issued on Monday, with an update that Tim Williams had said he would try and call by the end of the day. I would therefore have expected an update on the following day confirming whether the call had taken place or not, and promising further details. We didn't get that yesterday, so I would really hope OxVox comment before the end of today confirming one way or another. We don't need a full update, just a confirmation on whether Tim (or Dusan) are taking OxVox (and by extension Oxford United fans) seriously or not.
We should also remember they are a voluntary, democratically elected collective that have "day jobs" as well.
Yes it was an excellent email. I also feel that they should follow up with us this week, whatever response they've had. I think these days you need to be a bit more responsive and fast-moving, and 'quick' beats 'thorough and considered'.I would hope OxVox could keep a more regular communication up with the fans at this time. an Organisation is only as strong as its members. The more members the stronger voice they have ( are you a member of OxVox @OnlyOneUnited ? - OxVox AGM takes place soon, a number of commitee places are up for election, maybe you could apply and help make a difference?)I would hope OxVox could keep a more regular communication up with the fans at this time. I am a life member, have been for a good few years. I've got huge respect for Paul, and all at OxVox, for donating their time. When I've contacted them directly about certain things (namely some questions on the stadium) I got a direct reply, which is great. I myself could not spare that time with all the other commitments in my own life, so I don't take that for granted.an Organisation is only as strong as its members. OxVox is run by volunteers, most with day jobs, liaising with OUFC SMT ( including the thus far evasive , invisible and silent Chairman) is, as we know already, down to the willingness of key SMT members being available to OxVox representatives ( who alsothemselves need to be available), OxVox have no control over key SMT members pulling out/ cancelling pre arranged 'meetings'. When there is something to report, OxVox will report it

I understand the difficult situation they are in with this, and that they can only report as much as they are told. That's why I think at this stage, with everything going on, it would be no bad thing to provide a running commentary, with short updates informing us whether certain meetings have happened. Would it damage relationships with the club? Maybe. Would it demonstrate Oxford fans are pissed off and not willing to be put in a corner and patted on the head any more? Probably. Maybe the apple cart does need rocking now.
Or maybe this demonstrates why I shouldn't be anywhere near this kind of position, because I wouldn't have the diplomacy and would just be telling Tim Williams he's a useless t**t every five minutes!![]()
These days people are used to bulletins and updates on social media, and email circulars seem slow and old-fashioned, never mind talk of AGMs. I appreciate that OxVox may not want to switch to social media, but they need to keep in touch a bit more regularly at times like this.I am a life member, have been for a good few years. I don't disagree with this per se, but as you simultaneously continue to mock FAB I'm wondering who you expect to hold the club leadership to account in a timely fashion if not Oxvox?
