For those travelling to the Wigan match on Tuesday, who have a liking for real ale, local brews etc, about 10/15 mins from the ground ( a tad further north in Wigan suburb of Standish) is the tiny Ale house The Albion, Camera award winning it is too.... one for real ale connoisseurs ( theres invariably several Farmhouse ciders on offer too), its an old fashioned (small) bar, no food to speak of on offer, no jukebox, no sky or any other sort of TV in there( there are plenty of food outlets close by to the Albion should the need for a Wigan pie need adressing) ..... heres the online link for the Albion ......https://www.albionalehouse.co.uk/

What about good pubs for a nice refreshing pint of Carlin?

Is that 10-15 minute walk or drive Sarge?

Most pubs in Wigan town centre ...Moon under water, Anvil & Berkley are about 20 mins from the ground
at the stadium itself near to the turnstiles is the Marquee bar and also the away fan friendly Red Robin in Robin Park which is a couple of minutes walk from the ground

For early arrivals theres an option for a pilgrimage to The Grand Arcade in Wiganselect_1408525481__wigan-casino.jpg town centre, which has a blue plaque marking where the legendary Wigan Casino stood (just past the escalators) ...also Wigan Casino is commemorated on the second floor with The 'Casino cafe , and lots of murals, posters and the like on the walls of the second floor of the Grand Arcade..... though I beleive Grand Arcade closes around 6pm

never tried walking it :) ....couple of times when Ive DJ'd at Follow Your Heart allnighter ( in one of the Robin Park venues) Ive been to The Albion in Standish for a (decent) pre allnighter pint , its been a 7-10 min drive....on a match day/evening it may take 5 mins longer?
Driving from the Albion to the ground its head towards Wigan town centre , turn right at Cherry Garden pub/roundabout, and follow the road for about 2.5 miles .... guesstimated its around 4-5 mile drive from Standish to the ground
