I tend to agree with scrapping extra time. It is pointless 9 times out of 10 and penalties are much more exciting.
Did France win the Euros? That celebration reminded me of Bolton celebrating their play off game like theyโdโ won it!

It has improved League Cup ties, for certain. I canโt think of many periods of extra time that have been genuinely good. The World Cup final in 2022 and England v Portugal in 2004. Thatโs about it.
Itโs hard to come up with a solution that isnโt gimmicky though.

Yes, but Spain would thrash England whereas there is a chance of beating France on penalties.
Iโd get rid of extra time as well. Going straight to penalties might make the end of games more exciting if teams go for it a bit more. Theyโre all knackered in these extra time periods
