Yes, quite a lot of that money will be going on wages unless all of the players agreed to take a very substantial cut in pay if relegated.Although we don't know how much he's actually been given to spend
From what I can find, last year Luton earned £9.4M 'prize money' for coming 18th (!!!)* and in 2022/23 (couldn't find last years figures) the clubs near the bottom got about £100m in TV money**
So if they got £50m then they have more than £50m less than last year in their coffers.
Not sure what that proves except that the money in the Prem is ridiculous and can end up being a burden on clubs who go down because of the transfer money many of them spend to try and stay up and the wages they have to pay. Not sure that applies to Luton though!
