The number of Britons leaving the UK has fallen in the last 12 years, and has been broadly steady over the last 4 years. The only increase in people leaving the UK has been Europeans after Brexit. So don't think your statement is right.
YES, but the MEDIA would have you believe that we're fucked and there's a mass exodus of people because the country has gone to the dogs.

People criticise this government for talking down the country for the first 9 or so months of their tenure, but the media have been playing us all by doing it on Steroids for the last 20+ years and they're getting ever more hysterical in their reporting of this apparent "crisis" too.

I think you might find 275,000 british people left ,they now think they have got it wrong for rhe past 10 years and that the numbers are much larger than they first thought

According to who?
275000 a year, or cumulatively?

No leaving the UK in the last year alone ,they've been calculating the numbers wrong for years ,so replacing academics and top earnings with who ?500 immigrants are signing up for benefits every day .We are heading for bankruptcy and people can't see it.

But according to who? I was taking figures from the government website.

ONS ,get on Google and start getting worried i was born in 1959 and since 2000 the downward spiral is terryfing. Anyone in business knows that if the private sectors doesn't make more than the public sector we are heading for bankruptcy. And yes the Conservative have been bad but let's be honest Labour will keeping adding to the welfare debt burden until a massive crash.

So emigration figures for British people is not rising. EU & non-EU emigration is.

and here the total figures not broken down.

The first graph is certainly very interesting. Good to see the breakdown of British, EU and non-EU citizens. It shows us two things:-

1. It puts to bed the idea that lots of British people are 'leaving in their droves' because of Rachel Reeves' wanting to tax them more. It's been pretty static since about 2021.

2. What has gone up though is the number of EU and non-EU citizens leaving the country. Obviously took a bit of a dip since lockdown, but has spiked up after then. That is clearly due to Brexit, and the xenophobic atmosphere that has been stoked up by the likes of Farage, Tommeh, Jenerick Rupert Lowe, not to mention the media such as the Daily Heil, SS Express, Geebeebies and even social media. As you can see below, it has doubled since 2015/16, which is when the EU referendum campaigns were up and running.

More proof that Reform cannot be trusted to run a bath, let alone a country. I wouldn't be surprised if Farage knew more about this than he's letting on.
I personally feel he acted on his own for financial gain. I’m sure Nigel Farage will be happy that Gill has gone to prison. I’m sure Starmer and Badenoch will be looking at making political capital out of it, and it might well cost Reform votes.

It will be interesting to see how this guy’s treasonous speeches, are just lapped up and brushed aside by the Reformers on here and the fag smoking beer drinking messiah himself.

I think in both cases we’ll get a shake of the head and a tut, alongside something suggesting that bad people are in every organisation.

Just to reiterate he was the leader of your party in Wales

If this in itself doesn’t tell you what you need to know about reform then we really are screwed.

Hmmm. We're fast approaching the "Trump Horizon" with Reform

EVERYONE knows he's a wrong 'un

But hell, we'll suppoort them anyway because . . .

Radical leftist woke snowflake libtard fake news media conspiracy

Or something equally inane and devoid of all logic and reason. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

Of course Farage earned plenty on his own from the state owned broadcaster in Russia.

I haven’t seen any evidence on that one. I see Starmer is about to open a very large Chinese embassy in London, and is due to meet in China next week. Doesn’t spend much time here these days but maybe he is getting a backhander from the Chinese. Nothing would surprise me on that score.

That is the most beatifully executed reverse ferret I have ever seen. Working the criminal conviction of a reform leader for corruption into a completely unsubstantiated accusation of corruption by the PM. πŸ‘ πŸ‘πŸ‘

Farage and his remaining party members regularly tow the Kremlin line. Particularly around institutions that hold the West together.
But I agree, this doesn’t necessarily mean they are on the take. It could just be ideological?

So, is Farage a Nazi or a Communist then? I'm now not sure. Either way, don't vote for him.

I'm not convinced that Russia is 'Communist' in any meaningful way any more. It is a dictatorship, certainly 'some animals are more equal than others'!

Once you go far enough round the political circle, eventually you meet at the back and both extreme left and extreme right turn into similar things. 'Strong man' politics, where you can pretend to be democratic or communist or patriotic or capitalist (or whatever you want) to keep the population in line. And then you can grift away, salting billions away, covering everything you own in gold and making sure your enemies are either out of power or disappeared entirely.

A country with 140 billionaires and 426,000 millionaires is clearly not communist, but an oligarchy.

Academics come and go, we have in the UK 4 or the top 10 universities in Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial and UCL. Many go for a period and come back but its not full emigration. The world is a much more dynamic place so many people move for a job not because they hate the UK but because it furthers their career.

This nonsense that millionaires are leaving the UK again is often temporary. If you have owned a reasonable sized house in the South for 15+ years you will mostly likely technically be a millionaire. So again many move to explore job opportunities abroad, most return when that job is over. I worked with guys who were promoted to run businesses overseas they were not permanently leaving but they are included in the numbers.

Immigration has become a huge problem for most established economies, its a problem for Europe, and the US. The old requirement for cheap labour and the lack of controls have created worldwide chaos, it is not solely a UK problem.
