Pre-Season Pre-Season 25/26

I personally don't want an away pre season in Spain to see MĂ¡laga. I am looking forward to just hopping on a train to Oxford. And the notice is fine for those who normally work weekends.

When did we stop playing Oxford City in pre-season? It used to be a regular fixture.
I don't think Rageonline stores PSF games and my excels aren't comprehensive enough.

There was a post about this a couple of weeks back. Will dig it out

Edit - here we are. We've only not played them every year since 2017 through to 2024, but not in 2023 due to their pitch being re-done.
There was a little hiatus in 2015 & 2016 also.

We still do, I think we aren’t this time cos of the Indonesia trip. I’ve been to the last few.

Obviously we played them a lot more than i remember and i haven't been to PSFs for a while apart from the Italian team last year. Were they youth/reserve team games rather than "full" PSFs?

Yeah in the main. Some have seen more young pros/youths used but otherwise pretty strong.

Oh, come on, you're making too many excuses for them.

I've already said that this was known about some time ago. The dates, within a day or two, would have been known, even if the opponents weren't confirmed. A simple message saying that we were playing in Indonesia in the first two weeks of July, dates and opposition to follow, would have sufficed. Is that so difficult? Even a disclaimer saying the club are not liable for fixtures changing could have been inserted, then it's up to the individuals if they want to make bookings based on that..

Just something from the club acknowledging this tour would have been better than the absolute silence we've had. Do you think the club are currently scrambling around trying to book hotels and flights for the team? Of course they're not, it will have been done some time ago, but have denied those who may have wanted to go the same opportunity.

I sometimes get the impression that the club only want us onside when it suits them, and the communication bar is so low that many fans now accept it and even act as apologists for it. It could, and should have been communicated better.
There’s also a decent if not huge number of Us fans in SE Asia and ANZ. A bit more love from the club to distant exiles (apart from the specific Indonesian audience for this one) wouldn’t have gone amiss. The total outlay from the fans who have travelled just for this will probably be close to half a season of league away games!

I wanted to get the complete details of our pre-season games, and so where better to look than our fixture list, right? Nope, quite wrong. It only shows the Bristol Rovers game there. And that's despite the fact that all the games have been confirmed for three weeks or more.

Rather than posting on here (yet more moaning about what the club's doing wrong) I sent emails to admin@oufc.co.uk and to feedback@oufc.co.uk to point out the problem.

I got an answer really quickly. My messages had been rejected as spam!!

Well, that is one way to not have to deal with complaints, I suppose.

OK, to be fair, when I resent, I only got the same rejection from the admin address, and did get an automated response from the feedback address, promising to get back to me by the end of the season.*

I just typed "Oxford United pre season" into google and this website piece came up.

But yes the fixtures list not being updated is poor
