guess Id be in the 5% 'objecting' / opposing /saying no after (re)listening through it and giving my 2 ( IMO very) valid reasons for my no vote in the poll

What went down is a great walk out / build up tune, but I'd love to hear Inhaler trialled for a bit too, think Inhaler is a song with a bit more "oomph" when it kicks in.

There is no doubt we have no decent songs anymore and we just rely on the generic stuff most fans sing apart from the mundane yellow yellows..

What old songs could we bring back that could still be sung these days, honest question?

Some that spring to mind for me is:

I’m part of a team at the University of Sheffield, led by Dr Chris

Stride. We've published a number of academic papers and magazine

articles relating to football history, on subjects such as statues and

replica shirts (see, for example sportingstatues.com, and

).



Our current project is investigating the music that football teams have

run or walked out of the tunnel to over the years.

I think my favourite club song - as in a song made their own by fans is Ajax singing 3 little Birds



i don't think you can plan for that. it.started when Ajax were away at Cardiff and the fans couldn't leave the stadium at the end of the game and someone played the song over the PA

Something to run out to - I liked Sunderland using Prokoviev's Dance of the Knights.

A few years back the prematch music was a bit of a ‘new wave disco’with Eddie and the Hot Rods, Buzzcocks, etc. Being of that era I feel this is ideal football music. Or, the Boys Are Back in Town always sounds great when they play it. It should probably be something more contemporary but I’ll leave that to others.

Personally I think Yellow by Coldplay is the most ready made song for us and also easy for a crowd to sing. Listen to any of their concerts and it’s the most crowd led song they have. I think there is a possibility for us to personalise this and have an anthem that other teams can’t steal.

We need someone with a song writing background to adapt this for us.

Whilst I can see your point, I think I understand why it didn’t work before…. It was played at the time where the Kassam was soulless, we had no investment and dwindling crowds.

In a full Kassam and the speakers at full volume it could really work. All of the other suggestions above would make us a run of the mill club as every other club has the above. Yellow can’t be used by many other clubs and I’m convinced we didn’t utilise it correctly the first time.
