Six-pointer. Huge game and one we simply have to get something from.
3-1 to the Oxford boys!

I've gone for a 3-0 away win. Optimistic, but not unrealistic. Hard for me to pick an 11, but after Saturday, I would go with the following:
------------------
Cumming
Kioso Moore Brown Leigh
Brannagan Josh Mc
El-Miz
Dale Scarlett Tyler

As we saw on Saturday, two up top clearly works. It unsettle defences, gets numbers in the final third in and around the box, and creates more chances to be on the front foot, and it lifts the crowd, which in turn lifts the players.
We've got no effective wide options available anyway, Placheta's nothing more than an impact sub in my opinion, not a starter, and Phillips is way short of the fitness and sharpness levels needed to start.
So get a strong and stable midfield, get Tyler in the free role, popping up in the middle and wide areas, and get two up top, causing the defenders problems, and Harris can also drift into wider areas very well and cross the ball well, as we have seen before.
Then Dale coming on as an impact sub against tiring legs, can really help us kick on for the last 25mins, whilst giving defensive support to the full back as well.
If Kioso is still unwell, then Ter Avest should start at RB.
An absolute MUST WIN game, at the start of a run of very winnable games coming up, so be positive, and get on the front foot!
COME ON YOU YELLOWS!!

Wayne Rooney: Plymouth Argyle remain behind boss - Neil Dewsnip
Plymouth Argyle director of football Neil Dewsnip says everyone at the club is "behind" head coach Wayne Rooney.

Words from the chairman are defeatist if not apologetic
I would be amazed if we start with 2 upfront. If 2 upfront Scarlett and Goodwin please to start

Agreed but it was in response to previous posters 2 upfront commentI would be amazed if we start with 2 upfront.
Plymuff held a fans’ forum last night and a mate attended. They’ve got new investment expected by January (to increase stadium capacity plus a sizeable injection for player purchases which the chairman said will put them mid-table in the division for playing budgets).
The message last night was that they’re right behind WR and will support him in the transfer window, recognising what he was given in the summer wasn’t enough.
My mate reminded me that they’re tough to beat at home, just their away form is poor. 3 strikers out injured and a powderpuff midfield. But WR has ‘thrown some players under the bus recently’ and my mate thinks he’ll be gone if they lose to Oxford on Saturday but he might get another game if they win or draw. But he agrees with WR’s approach as they have been playing poorly. Schumaker did the same when he was manager and the players responded and they went on a good run.
Much like us, if they can stagger through to January expectations will rise. I’ll be at Home Park to see how this goes. Predicting a 1-1 draw.

As always, there are no easy games in the Champ.
Plymouth do have a good record at home, won 4, drawn 3 and only lost once, 1-0 to Stoke, in August.
They've also scored 5 goals past the 90 in their home games, so it won't be over, 'til its over.

To be honest, I can't see Des going with two up front, as regardless of the fact against Millwall, the short amount of time we went two up top it clearly yielded more results than we have in weeks, I don't think it's Des's style. If 2 upfront Scarlett and Goodwin please to start
It's wishful thinking on my part for two up top, but I just think a team like ours needs to do all we can to unsettle defences at this level, and two up top would be a good way to do that. It clearly causes chaos at this level, as they're not used to defending against it, and we need any advantage we can get!
But if we did go two up top, I would be wary of throwing Goodwin in from the start, as he's hardly played any minutes, despite being apparently fit and on the bench for weeks, I'd keep giving him more minutes off the bench for now, while he hopefully builds up his match fitness and robustness.
