Were you suitably whelmed by Gary Rowett?

I’d take back Manning tbh. Yes, he left a snake. Yes, he will struggle to get the fans behind him. But he did well with Bristol City, knows the club, we were almost top of League 1 when he left and he has recent champ experience.

What we don’t need is a hipster appointment like Will Still or Patrick Kluivert imho.

Also, KR won’t be appointed. If he is, expect our goal difference to plummet.

I accept that a board don’t get every decision right, but they did appoint Buckingham and Rowett, both to do a job and both succeeded in that job. I’ve got a little more confidence that they’ll make the right decision this time too. Time will tell.

I have that feeling too. I remember last season I was delighted we got GR and quite a lot of our relegation rivals were worried by his appointment and rightly so.

Most seem to want to give Still and Manning a wide berth according to our poll here.

But I wonder of the viable options this time around how many other clubs will be worried about who we have given the job to ?

Michael Duff or Graham Alexander would be good choices too, tho both currently doing well in League One and would be hard to prize away, similar to Skubala who also must be considered.

Definitely a huge NO to anyone who has managed us before.

Going to play devil’s advocate here after seeing the footballinsider tweet on Mr Manning.

Saved us from relegation then left us in 2nd place. Playing somewhat attacking football. Much more than we have been this season.
Went onto join Bristol City who have been midtable mediocrity for eternity and in his 1st full season gets them playoffs. Jumped ship again and failed at Norwich. Don’t think he is all to blame with that as they haven’t improved that much under new manager and the overall fans despise their recruitment and CEO.

He’s said himself he has good relationships here so I’d wonder if that’s with the recruitment team as pretty much every player bought in under his management was a success for that season. Harris, Ruben, Mills, Greg etc.

My worry is not that he’d jump ship again if the opportunity comes as I’m sure our Owners are smart enough to put in a big release clause this time. It’s the relationship with the fans. If things carry on the way they are then it’ll turn sour and very very fast. On the other end you have him picking up results and then getting fans back on his side.

I for one will not be listening to his robotic interviews however.

I don’t think it will happen but these are my thoughts if it was too.

Not suggesting he is in the running but one to look at as an upcoming manager could be Andy Woodman. Doing a cracking job for Bromley. Likely way too big a jump though from L2 to Championship.
