Could you include a None of the Above option on the poll?

This.

Very uninspiring list. Carrick maybe the best of the bunch - but my issue with him (and some of the other names) is that they'd consider themselves 'above' us.

I don't want someone who buys into the lazy popular narrative around OUFC. I want someone who would see the oppotunity ahead of them.

Wagner didn't go to Huddersfield and settle for scrapping for safety. Perhaps, as an outsider, he didn't buy into the moronic 'lucky to be here' narrative? He transformed a struggling Championship club with a 'can do' attitude (and a lot of backbone).

Sheffield Wednesday are obviously a big club, but similarly Röhl transformed them on a shoe-string budget. He didn't settle for another relegation scrap. Nor did he jump at the first chance (no-one can blame him for going this summer).

I would like someone of this ilk. For that reason I suspect the best appointment is someone that hasn't even been mentioned. Probably from the continent.

Quite frankly, I'd like to see what our Head Of Football Operations pulls out. It's a major part of his job - succession planning. He should be hot on who's next. He should have scoured Europe for the next Danny Röhl or David Wagner.

Hopefully it's not a lazy Michael Beale or Russell Martin instead. That would be quite telling.

Wonder if Lee Carsley has any aspiration to move in to club management? He'd have to start somewhere.

Bit mad those that are so anti-Still. He's articulate, intelligent, bilingual, up to date with modern coaching techniques and had some real solid results as a manager in challenging leagues. While fully appreciating he didn't get Southampton going (albeit the team he helped assemble seems to be going half decent now).

But yeah, let's go with say John Terry instead because not only he is a leader, but he's a bloody LAD too. Christ.
… oh well, if he’s bilingual we’d better get him in. https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1BnCMUx5g8/?mibextid=wwXIfr

When Rohl went in their wage budget increased and was £21million in 23/24 season, not exactly a shoe string.

Different circumstances, the board at the time pissed Wilder off hugely.
Wilder walked out of the club after a game after being refused permission to speak to Northampton because they wasn't prepared to pay the compo for a manager under contract

If Manning says sorry and means it, I wouldn't be adverse to him returning. Did well at Bristol City and would've learnt from his time at Norwich.
I don’t think there is any chance of manning returning to the club, it’s for the birds as they say.
Probably more chance of Robinson coming back, probably still get relegated but we would see some good football.

Here in is the problem.

You boot someone after 12 months who would "relish the opportunity"?

Did the senior folk not have someone lined up before pulling the trigger?

Its also peculiar some are discussing loyalty and suggesting Manning....

Rowett was the 8th longest serving manager in the championship, if you are not keen on a job in management in this division because the man before you got the sack after a year then not going to be many vacancies. Every club in this division is a sacking one if it’s not going well, no exceptions.

Bring back suits and ties and flat caps
That reminds me. I had a suggestion earlier in the season that the club should give the season ticket holders a GR style cap. Quite pleased they just did the voucher now.

But things were obviously not great as Wilder had us in 2nd place?

Michael Carrick is lined by to replace Ryan Mason (when he eventually gets the bullet) at West Brom.

Gary O’Neil in the frame to replace Chris Davies when Bham pull the trigger.

I have no idea who I want to come in, but I do know id hate manning showing up and i cant believe the amount of people saying him?
Even ignoring the way he left, which shouldn't be ignored, Bristol city were statistically the worst team to ever get into the playoffs last year and got made to look like mugs and then his record at Norwich? Give it a rest. Awful.

If I remember rightly it'd be six left wingers, one playing right back due to injuries

Sell all of our full backs bar Sam Long to raise funds to buy 6 left wingers, 5 of whom are injured, Jamie Hanson out of retirement to play as a left back.

100% this. Best post I’ve read so far.
