Crowd 14,762 (yeh, right) with 6,257 Pompey fans.

Impressive. Made me wonder who are the best fans, as judged by away attendance. I have no definitive answer to this, but I'd wager Leeds are right up there, plus clubs like Sunderland (2,000 fans at Bristol City despite their position).

Leeds, Sunderland, Plymouth (decent numbers for the amount of travel), Bristol Rovers, Villa, Pompey, Birmingham and Our one yellow army take good numbers away and create a good atmosphere.

Grates me to say it but Manure’s away support is excellent, nearly all mancs and some top notch songs. Always the best away fans when I lived in Romford and used to go to West Ham.

Best in terms of number is hard to judge. I guess you have to work out who fills the away ends of their opponents on a constant basis. I imagine Leeds and Portsmouth do fairly often and a lot of your usual PL sides like Liverpool and Manchester United.

Personally I do give respect to the fans who travel from the likes of Carlisle and Plymouth to away games. Bristol Rovers is one of my Plymouth’s more local games and that’s a 250 mile round trip!

MK are the 8th highest in League one for net home fans, average 7895, as Pete says ‘yeah right’

MK are in the bottom 4 for their away followings, and second from bottom for percentage of home fans taken away (5.71%) Charlton come last.

Interestingly (or not!) for statto’s MK attract the 2nd highest number of away fans, only beaten by Blackpool.

Accrington took 516 to Coventry yesterday,when you consider they get about 1,200 at home,thats great support.
Coventry gave away 13k free tickets to schools,the crowd was 28k.
