For those lucky enough to get tickets for the playoff game.
Please bear in mind to allow yourself plenty of time to get to the game.
The LTNs in Cowley have caused chaos. Journey times around Cowley and Littlemore have increased significantly. In rush hour it's far worst. Also from around 4pm it's very slow between the Mini factory and Hinksey Hill interchange on the A34.
No doubt stadium entry will also be a much slower procedure I would think

They are a pain in the ass!

What's an LTN?
Low Traffic Network.
The Council have put bollards in place to stop traffic passing through.
So traffic that used those roads shifts onto the already congested other roads.
No doubt in a few months they'll be saying the air quality has dropped due to pollution and pay some company an exorbitant consultancy fee to find out why

What's an LTN?
Low Traffic Neighbourhood.
They have blocked off lots of connecting roads like Bartholomew Road and Littlemore Road, means that more people are forced to make longer round trips to get between places. Iffley Road, Garsington Road, and the Eastern Bypass much busier. Not helped by the fact they are surface dressing on lots of the roads (Garsington Road, Watlington Road, Holloway, etc) to block more things/slow things down.

Thanks for this I just looked on the map and it looks like our usual cut through to BBL from Rose Hill has been blocked off by an LTN barrier at Bartholomew road.

Assuming this is still current.

yes. will either need to go around Church Cowley Road, or onto bypass.

edit: and Church Cowley Road can be a car park at times now. On Saturday it was queued back from the turnoff to the John Allen Centre back past Florence Park Road.

Greta loves LTN`s................ get on your bike!!
:ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
I doubt she does. All it means traffic taking longer journeys to get places and be stuck idle in increased traffic, means more emissions. There are more sensible ways to encourage greener transport use.

Well, there is not yet any enforcement, the restriction is there. Its exactly the sort of place on a matchday they will stick a mobile camera or a plod.
Nah they wont. It cannot be enforced until the camera is up. I go through it weekly.

There are no signs saying about fines.

Its

chaos, cars are queueing right the way down Church Cowley Road.
yeah, just added that in edit. they haven't updated the phase of any of the traffic lights, so turning right from Henley Avenue onto CCR takes a number of cycles of the lights too.

pop up temporary roadworks rife inside the Oxford ring road of late.... an example being on Headley way the other day (Tuesday afternoon)) , there were temporary traffic lights about 50meters from the first set of traffic lights at the bottom of Headley way... result massive traffic queues down Headley way from Headington, Marton road to the bottom of Headley way & from the rig road along Marsh road

The lack of organisation in this country beggars belief.
Theyve just spent the best part of 6 months of Sundays fannying about with Headley Way. Now just as they've got the mud off the shovel, they dig it up again
