Cardiff had their award night straight after the game on Saturday when they were confirmed relegated. Didn't go down well with their fanbase.

Cardiff had their award night straight after the game on Saturday when they were confirmed relegated. Didn't go down well with their fanbase.

We had this a couple of years ago when some fans were saying that the players didn't deserve an awards night when we had only just survived relegation.

What people need to remember is that these events are often booked months in advance and are a night to recognise sponsors as much as the players. Cardiff fans may not like it, and I'm sure that the players didn't like it either. But a relegated team will be relying on club sponsors even more and that means playing the corporate game a little.
