45 games down. 1 to go.
Prize giving is booked for May Day.
Who’s your choice?

1. Ciaron Brown. Has stepped up in a massive way, and proved he absolutely is a championship centre back. What a season he’s had for us. Outstanding.

2. Jamie Cumming. Also had an amazing season for us, who would’ve thought that a month or two into his loan spell with us.

On another note, Leigh has been brilliant since Rowett has come in, as well as Vaulks and Ter Avest.

Who’s player of the season then?

1. Ciaron Brown. Warrior.
2. Jamie Cumming. Is he our most valuable player right now?

Honourable mentions:
- Vaulks (different player after the first 10 games - eventually became our biggest attacking threat)
- Cam. If he’d been from the start we might have had 50 points already last month.
- Helik (what a buy!)
- Marcelinho. If you’re judging it on instagram views alone.

Worst player of the season:
Harris.

On this forum, someone thinks Cheese is player of the year.

On another forum, someone else thinks Cheese was our worst summer signing.

Football fans, eh?

I've voted Jamie Cumming simply because I think that without him we would have been relegated. However, Ciaron Brown has also been exceptional and I wouldn't be against him winning.

Since playing together under Rowett, Cam and Vaulks have been fantastic. I won't ever hear a bad word against Sam Long, but he has shown huge character to fight his way back into the team so often. Moore has also been a real leader at times, but you wonder how different things may have been if Nelson and Helik had been available all season.

Its obviously been much harder for attacking players, but Harris has always put the yards in even if his game is limited. Tyler started and finished the season well, Placheta had a mini spell where he looked great and Dembele scored crucial goals.

Several have been found wanting, but I'm not going to coat anyone off. In the dying seconds against Cardiff, Matt Phillips defended the back post against two that maybe saved us a point. So many have had minor contributions that collectively got us over the line and that's enough for me right now.

There’s two possibilities, and I’m 50/50.

My vote is for Cumming; he has individually gained us points this season with some unbelievable performances. He ranks in the top TWO keepers in the championship for goals conceded v post shot expected goals conceded. He has stopped the equivalent of 12 expected goals this season. We have conceded 62. If we had conceded that extra 12 we would definitely have been relegated.

But I’m completely fine with Brown getting it too.

I'm giving the edge to Brown over Cumming.

Both absolutely outstanding over the course of the season, but I feel that Cumming had a couple of rough patches where he made some costly mistakes (most notably, the Coventry/Hull/QPR x2 errors in March & April). He was still massively net positive overall.....but I don't remember Brown ever having a bad spell personally. Model of consistency all year.

Cumming for me with Brown a close second.
Helik would have been in the conversation with a whole season behind him.

For me, this post ends the debate. No one can disagree with this surely?

A team of heroes and they all contributed but what @Vancouver Yellow said please.
