Current Player Thread Peter Kioso

Long term according to BBC. Undisclosed fee. Will be on the new The Dub later today

Think we may like this guy! These highlights are 2 years old and he's only got better since by the looks.

The boys an athlete for sure - good experience in a position that needs strengthening and still relatively young. I like the look of this!

As an aside, I can't be bothered to go through the transfer thread but did anyone have any 'insight' on this move?

If you mean ITKility both Tatabanya and Billy’s something

Looks a good deal. Age and experience look to be on point. Wages won't be breaking the budget even if we double what he was on at Rotherham he would still be on well under £10k a week. This is the sort of signing
we need to keep pulling in. Hopefully becomes a big asset for the future.

What does ‘long term’ mean? If beyond 2026, the board must be really happy with the stadium situation then - or at least confident plan B will be going through ok.

Welcome aboard!
I usually take long term to be 3 or 4 years. We are not paying a huge (for us) transfer fee just for someone to snatch him on a free 2 or 3 years from now. I would say at his age we would be looking at 4 years.

600k-700k off the mark apparently according to Liam rice
That would be a lot for a player with one year left at this level. I had seen £400k rumoured around last week and that 2 Championship clubs were interested.

He never really got a chance for us in the Championship, when he did play he looked fairly decent, but 3 different managers all never played him, so must have been something in there for him not to get a game. Would say he's a very good league 1 player but remains to be seen how good he can be in the Championship. Wish him and OXford luck
