Since he started working in senior football he is racking up a job a year. He doesn't last that long even as an assistant.

However, even as a coach he hasn't lasted anywhere very long - which would call his skills in that area into question for me as well really. A decent coach can often outlast a manager or two at a club - but has he done that?

I never understood him. He got several teams relegated across multiple leagues in Europe in his early days, and his since carried on being pretty poor to say the least. He would’ve gotten us relegated if we had kept him - the people at the time saying it was an outrage sacking him when we were 10th had failed to look at form, players, fixtures and the fact we were in free fall. By the time he had carried on playing Xemi over the likes of Ledson and Rothwell, insisted that Gino Van Kessel was the L1 Ronaldinho, kept trying to get Dwight Tiendalli to be able to walk again, and then bolstered the ranks further with the likes of Kemy Agustien, we would’ve been absolutely toast.

I have absolutely no idea how or why he keeps getting jobs.

He must talk a good game. He navigated our interview process to get the top job so must have entertained our chairman and co as well as agreed to some of the demands to continue what MApp was doing.

Except he didn't, of course. Malmo c. 2010-13 were reunited, nepotism/'he played for Barca' saw Xemi arrive and Tiandalli hobbled his way into the team. We got rid at the right time and went back to a more familiar face to League 1 (KR has had a few dodgy moments since, mind). He appeared to do a better job at Birmingham though - not spectacular by any means nor anything that would make you take note, but no epic thumpings or bizarre moments that would catch the eye.

Not sure what Clotet will do next at all. A move back to Spain maybe?

Well he helped turf out his previous best mate (allegedly) to land a manager’s job, so he has outlasted a manager at least once!

I firmly believe that at the interview stage that he must have come out with such rubbish that he was almost believable, plus he no don’t was almost unerstandable to the the panel, we most focus so I buy a metro for worst trainer, I will useless players with non English names , so they must be better than English players, a touch of the kings new clothes I feel

I'd always hesitate to say "I could do his job as well/better than he can" because I think that belies a lot of what goes on in the background and the undoubted hard work which comes with being a football manager of any standing or reputation.

Yet... I truly believe any one of us could have done better than he did as our manager.

I certainly cant see him getting another job in this country. Being mates with Gary Monk seem to elevate his reputation above where it really deserved to be. He then went and shafted Monk over the Brum job by all accounts so he’s definitely burned his bridges here I reckon
