Paul Hinshelwood

That's sad. I saw him play a couple of times. When he signed it was one of those - oh we can attract well-known players - moments. Plus he has a cool hairstyle for the time.

Remember being right in front of his twenty yarder at Goodison. Snow swirling about. United certainly punched above their weight back then. Heady days indeed!

RIP. Very sad news.
He was a decent player at the beginning of our glory years.

Shocked to hear this. A very decent attacking full back and I think he was in that initial cluster of signings that signalled the new era under Smith and Maxwell.

AS a kid in London I remember him and his brother Martin playing for Palace on The Big Match, 2.15 on a Sunday.

RIP Paul, decent player and important member of the 83/4 Championship side which started the glory years.

His one goal for Oxford, and a belter (35 seconds in)

Love them old goals where the cameraman can't keep up with the ball!

RIP Paul.

I remember the original tie at the Manor in January 1984 with Kevin Brock's back pass letting in Adrian Heath for the late equaliser and thus the need for the replay. Was said to have saved Howard Kendall his job as Everton manager and marked the turnaround in their fortunes.

RIP Paul.
