OxVox reaction to CDC planning officers' advice on the stadium

Turn up, & behave.

Listen & get the outcome we want pending SOS ratification.

Ignore the noise from the anti’s, the battle with them has been won already. We’ve made them look stupid. We’ve debunked every point they’ve ever made.

If you get turned away, watch it on your phone and celebrate after in a local bar.

That’s all that’s needed.

Anything other than that is a pointless argument at this stage.

Wow, that ignore button isn't working very well is it.......
it's working fine Colin- but when people started quoting. our posts I thought i'd see what you had to say.

Not an expression of joy or delight , nor thanks for the many who've put in so much to get to this point, but someone having a go at fan groups for pointing out that attendance is going to be limited.

You're surpassing yourself this evening-

If you are going to come along bring a bottle of champagne, your Oxford United Scarf - maybe a blazer and a rattle. And a nice smile,

Well you obviously didn't see my post last night, which I've copied for you below:

Slightly late to this as we've been doing something tonight, and I thought when there was no news at 5pm there was going to be a last minute delay, again.

But great news. It will happen now, 100%, no matter what the councillors do next Thursday. There will be a little more horse trading, but there's no stopping this now.

I first started working on this in 2018, and officially in 2019. It seems a lifetime ago now, and I haven't been involved for a while now, but there have been so many ups and downs, and I have so much information which can't see the light of day yet, but I look forward to the day when it can. Lots of people are thanking some of the heroes on here, who have done there bit, and deservedly so, but one person who hasn't been mentioned yet, who worked his a**e off to get us here is Niall McWilliams, and he deserves all of our thanks. Mark my words, as someone who worked with him, without Niall there would be no stadium, and almost certainly no Oxford United.

I feel very strange. I want to be happy, and I am, but I feel a bit of an emotional wreck tonight, and have a very persistent bit of dust in my eye. Sweet dreams everyone, we're nearly there.

If you're going to have a pop at someone, maybe having their posts on ignore, or just being selective in what you decide to criticise, might lead to you making yourself look a bit stupid. At the last count the above post had 66 likes, not that I post for likes, but hey, according to you I never say anything positive or complimentary.

He doesn't need me speaking on his behalf, but @Colin B has been involved in this project from the very early days and was often a lone voice talking up our chances of success when there were hundreds of posts dismissing our chances of ever getting a new home. If anyone deserves to be at the meeting, it's him.

This process has been an emotional roller coaster for many for a couple of years, but imagine giving the best part of a decade of your life to this, along with some of the s**t that Middleton and others threw at him, and you will maybe understand why Colin is so passionate about this.

I still want us to respect the process, and hope that anyone who does turn up is mindful of how their presence alone could be used by those who oppose the stadium. But let's not fall out after we've come so far on this.

I don't feel anyone has said he shouldn't go, he's just blown up what was a perfectly reasonable thread in quite a petulant manner.

Could be a little bit awkward for some having a p**s at HT in the SSU Upper on Saturday….

It's always awkward. Dodging the 'puddles' and other detritus. Shuffling uncomfortably at the trough when that recalcitrant prostate says "No, I don't want you to pee" and wishing that you had used a cubicle after all, and then remembering the state that was in what with all the previous useage.

We've gone from arguing about having no strikers to arguing about having no chairs.
What an odd lot we are.
