Oxford United Women

The crowd was I think announced as around 470? Something like that anyway. Not sure about players, but saw Rosie there.
That's more than our Men's away game at Crawley in the Tinpot Trophy a few years back (Robbie Hall hattrick, Tyler's debut). Sure this number will grow exponentially once the stadium opens.

Just posted this in the tinpot Swindon threat but might as well celebrate it twice.
While Oxford women are winning 3-1 against Middlesbrough, the scum are losing 9-0 to Charlton!

Last 16 in the FA Cup of Us, Arsenal, Spurs, Man City, Brighton, Chatham Town, Sheffield United, Liverpool, Man Utd, Bristol City, Charlton, Birmingham, Everton, West Ham, London City Lionesses.

Speaking ss a part of the OUWFC supporters group please do get along to OUWFC games. Most of us go to both the mens and womens games. We have a great community and all work together to get more people along and ramp up the atmosphere. We have a laugh and support the team. If anyone wants to come along we have Cheltenham next week. If you want to get involved join the whats app group!!! We do tend to give the opposition a goals start for some reason?, but we are good for 2/3 in the last 5 minutes!!!! Didn't see it today but Emma Thompson is an Aldridge like finisher. There is no stopping Liam Gilberts Yellow and Blue army!

Fantastic result. I noticed that the women's team have now earned more than £100k in prize money from the FA Cup alone this season. Presumably this is a pretty significant sum compared to regular annual revenues for the team? Hopefully it will provide a platform for bigger and better things to come...

Looking at thr scores in the FA Cup yesterday, there were some big scores;

Two 6-0s
One 10-0 ( Swindon lost!!)
One 5-0

There is clearly a big gap between the top division and the rest.

Hopefully we get a really good home draw and aren't hammered!

Yeah the gap is big, probably bigger than men’s football. My daughter played against Liverpool yesterday and it was backs to the wall for the whole 90 minutes, but a brilliant experience for her and the team. I read in the build up to the game that a tier 4 team has never beaten a WSL team and London Bees were priced at 50-1 to win.

Fantastic result for the yellows. Haven’t seen them this season due to my own coaching commitments and watching my daughter if I have a Sunday free. It looks like Liam has come back in and continued where he left off.

You could say exactly the same thing about the men's game.

Some very similar scorelines in the men's 3rd round matches.

True, although Macclesfield best Crystal Palace.
I believe that no 3rd tier team in women's football have ever beat a top-tier team.
I seem.to think that generally there is a bigger gap in women's football due to the third tier being amateur/ semi pro?

The Women's game had decades where there was very little fundig, they were banned from using men's facilities etc.

There was always a potential for young boys to make a living playing football. For young girls, that opportunity has only very recently become a reality. That will encourage participation, and drive improvement throughout the game.

...but there's a massive gap in men's football as well.

Man City won the 2019 final 6-0.

Last time there was as much of a one sided final as that in the Women's FA Cup was 77/78.
