They can’t turn it down if they hit the release clause. BDK knows the clubs stance on this and understands it so it hasn’t caused any issues.I like your positivity Scotch, as it is refreshing to read on here. However there is no way that you give a highly paid player, desperate for game time, a match off to look after his mate. If he was part of the plans he would have been there today. There is clearly a dispute between both parties in one shape or form.
My guess is that interest has been shown, which the club may have turned down. leaving a very awkward situation
Yeah but they can turn it down if it's below the release clauseThey can’t turn it down if they hit the release clause. BDK knows the clubs stance on this and understands it so it hasn’t caused any issues.
Well the bookies took a while to react to our plight but we are out to 22/1 from 12/1 for the title with Skybet which makes an each way bet more appealing.Heard Tim is history
Anyhow back to the game today. So positive.
Playing style
The young players
TBH if we can keep squad together starting to think I may have a punt on us going up

Yes they can but it doesn’t mean BDK is kicking up a fuss or ‘downing tools’.Yeah but they can turn it down if it's below the release clause
It depends on your definition of downing tools. Did he turn up to training? Yes. Did he make himself available to play today? No. He's chosen to push for a move this way rather than show potential clubs what they might get by signing him. Ramsey is protecting him by saying he's ill/helping a mate/tired and that makes complete sense from a OUFC and Ramsey perspective.Yes they can but it doesn’t mean BDK is kicking up a fuss or ‘downing tools’.
The next player out leaves a space for Kent to be registered as an Oxford player, but any more after that means it'll be one in, one outIf Vaulks or any other player for that matter, are we under the 23 player rre embargo rule ?
I assume you know for sure he is pushing for a move?It depends on your definition of downing tools. Did he turn up to training? Yes. Did he make himself available to play today? No. He's chosen to push for a move this way rather than show potential clubs what they might get by signing him. I mean we've already cut so many costs with the players sold, released and loaned out already, and moving Vaulks on would also help to reduce wage costs. The embargo wasn't put in place because we needed to drastically cut costs, it was put in place because we couldn't provide evidence we had enough funds to cover the whole season at the 65% wage cost threshold.I think the whole point of the embargo is to cut costs, so I wouldn't be so sure it's 1 in, 1 out otherwise what's the point. Only way it might work is to sell a player for 3 million and sign a cheap loanee. Problem is that the 3 million payment may be structured over 3/4 years so could only be 750k upfront?. Who knows.
I would love BDK to stay. He is the definition of a gamechamger.Iirc, Ramsay mentioned BdK was looking after Roosken's kids with him being in hospital and it ended up being a very late night, going into the early hours so wasn't worth the risk. He is coming back from a long term injury so bringing him back with additional risk for a PSF makes no sense either.
It could all be rubbish but seems a strange reason to give for it not to be true. Especially with plenty of more straightforward excuses available if it is one.
I think we might miss his leadership (not to be underestimated as I think we lack leaders big time), but we won’t miss his playing ability.
I have to say, I was impressed with Sibley’s cameo and McDonnell looked to have a lot more of an idea with the ball than I’d seen previously. He could be one to watch this year which seems a bit daft to say when he was signed for 7 figures but he was chasing shadows for Bloomfield. Brannagan was pretty understated but got around and it’s nice to see him hovering around the edge of the box again.
First I’d seen of Bradney who plays with decent confidence and energy and that appears to be the criteria for Ramsey on the evidence of today. At no stage did we practice sitting in and Vaulks has long been a couple of seconds behind play. Then again, any thinning of the squad right now feels like a roll of the dice.
Difficult to be a game changer when you haven't been fit for 7 months & not been available for pre season .I would love BDK to stay. He is the definition of a gamechamger.
Do think Long may be ahead of Helik in the pecking order as it gives us a CB who has a bit more ability to pass out. But we'll see.
A good game today I would expect the starting 11 to start against the fakes, but I have a concern Harris had two gilt edge chances today and messed them up, yes we have GoD but up against leave opposition I hope he can do it.
Someone said to me the other day if we lose one more player our squad will be 22 and we would be allowed to sign another if that’s correct please go and sign a striker.
We couldn't sign him anyway so I'm not sure how this is relevant?Danny Ings is kicking his heels but rumoured to be joining Plymouth.

How do you babysit your own kid?our best player and biggest asset unavailable due to babysitting and it’s not even his own f***ing kid!
VoilaI genuinely can not wait for Dick 'Tyler has no parental responsibilities' Walton to catch up with this thread and find out that our record signing couldn't play in a pre-season friendly because he was looking after another man's children.
His head will surely explode![]()
Thought August 1st was the new April 1st when I read this last night - our best player and biggest asset unavailable due to babysitting and it’s not even his own f***ing kid! I’ve been impressed with Ramsey so far but what’s he doing coming out and saying this (if he indeed did)? This is fully Sunday league stuff and just about the most pathetic - not to mention embarrassing - excuse I’ve ever heard of for a player being unavailable. When I played village stuff we had the odd player crying off to accompany their wife to go Christmas shopping but I’m not sure that tops this fiasco.
Not being funny but where the bloody hell is Rooskens partner and what about the partner of BDK? Can’t she help out? Tyler’s baby caused a lot of unnecessary commotion but this kid of Rooskens has knocked spots off that.
Can't say I've ever seen that. I need to pay more attention.I really don’t get the hype around the ‘leadership’ from Vaulks.
Most games I see him shouting petulantly during a game about trivial things and causing havoc in the wrong way.
How do you babysit your own kid?
When you’re in sole charge of your own child it’s called parenting.Easily.
I’ve had four and loads of times I’ve had to say ‘no’ to something to look after my kids if my wife wasn’t able to and likewise she’d have said ‘no’ if I wasn’t available to look after them. Just being a parent or babysitting, call it what you like but it’s basically when you’re in sole charge of them. I get it we’re in a world now where a wife can’t go to Sainsbury’s without the husband holding her hand but I’m from a different generation - one where people were more capable, more resolute and less offended if people have their own minds.
He’s right to be fair. Does give ear fulls a lot, seemingly in times when they are not required or unfair. Can't say I've ever seen that. I need to pay more attention.
That’s some pretty serious clutching at straws there Scotchers!BdK has only just returned to training following an illness and would have been on a more bespoke training plan as a result.
Having not been involved Tuesday night, he would have been expected in on Wednesday to train. IF, and I'm only guessing, he was involved in supporting Roosken to and from hospital on Tuesday, then that may have impacted on the training plan and knocked him back a little in terms of potentially being ready to be involved today.
Not that it matters hugely. He probably missed out on 15 mins at the most and would probably be better off with a training game midweek. After all, its not that long ago that Robbo threw Wildschut straight in and lost him for most of the season.
Still not babysitting though is it, they’re your kids!Easily.
