Absolutely not. Why are people prepared to keep giving this bloke chance after chance after chance ? People were writing Emakhu off after one game last season yet Romeny has somehow got into people’s heads that there’s this player in there just waiting to flourish. God knows what they’re seeing because I’ve seen every single minute from him and he’s nowhere near good enough.

You've seen every minute of him in the Championship. @Ricey is saying he might have an impact this season - i.e. in League One. He doesn't seem to be suggesting Romeny is the guy to both take us up and smash them in the following season in the 2nd tier. There is definitely a very very big difference in what a striker is able to achieve between those divisions. Harris scored 19 in our promotion season, and we all know how he managed once we were up there (and I'm not singing him out, just using him as an example).

I'm not saying I want to see Romeny leading the line throughout the season, but I do think (depending on other attacking signings) he will have a more successful impact on the team than he has done while we were in the league above, if/he does play.

I think after 30 or 40 odd appearances over two seasons you can form a view of whether a player can cut it in even the league below - that’s what I’ve done. I get what you say about Harris and there’s probably no more stark example than him but he’s a better player than Romeny in my opinion. That said, I’m not convinced Harris will reproduce in L1 as he did before - we need better in attack.

Let’s not kid ourselves League 1 will have better players than it did two years ago if we go into the season thinking the likes of Harris and Romeny will shine, think again.
Brannagan and Brown might and possibly Goodrham but as KR promised and never delivered we are going to need stronger more physical players to get us up

Certainly will need more than a bt of physicality in the squad this coming season

Rumour was that it's just a loan anyway. He is an Erick project after all so he's had a good run for Indonesia out of it - just that he didn't really add value to our front line.
 
Haven’t seen anything from the club yet, but looks like he was in the team photos for Fortuna Sittard
 
Good riddance. I can't think of an Oxford player I've disliked more in our recent history than Romeny.

He definitely has some talent with the ball at his feet, but he looks slow and quite frankly, disinterested. With some hard work he could've got himself in a better physical condition to deal with the pace of the game, but he always gave off the impression he thought he was better than us and his time was better spent on photoshoots. Or, when he did make it on the pitch, trying to do a little piece of skill that would make good Instagram content. I guess being the star man for one of the biggest countries in the world can do that. The video of him doing keepy uppy during a match on that Indonesia tour summed him up for me. Too wrapped up in himself to ever be of any use to the team.

A shame that Thohir wasted so much of his money forcing Romeny on the club. It's been a bad decision for so many reasons.
 
BBC have edited their article and removed the tweet saying he has completed his move.
 
Like most of our signings I thought he could be a decent player in the first few appearances but after that he always looked lost when he came on.
 
My concern with this is that with no option to replace anyone we are slowly losing attacking options. I know he’s not great but having him as an option is better than nothing. We now have Harris GOD and 2 youth team players as our forward line!
