He’s fast as f**k but mentally inept. Sometimes his decision making makes me want to destroy my TV, or the nearest fan, depending on if I’m at the game or not.

When he’s good, he’s very unplayable. I’ll give you that.

I’m not sure his technicals are all that - he’s quite one footed and often takes a heavy touch.

But he can plunder one in from 30 yards… and then proceeds to think he can do it 40 more times in a game and I go back to imagining a giant hole in the telly

He’s got a brilliant touch, sometimes. He can kill a cross field ball stone dead, or control it twenty yards.

Was never in it today. Was one of the most baffling selections tbh as he has shown nothing to merit a start. Actually makes you wonder whether it was a 2 fingered salute to the owners and recruitment team

Not offering a different opinion to you regarding his performance today but do you mean poorly all season, as in injured, rather than poor all season? He has been out injured for most of it..

Yes, I wondered that as well. If- as has been rumoured- he was a player that neither Rowett nor the scouting team wanted.

No, I meant he's been poor whenever he's played. This season and last. He's shown some nice touches, and he has ability, but he's just too slow for this level imo. Tbh, I'm not even sure he'd cut it in L1

True, but he's like that whenever he plays. Nice technique but not quick enough. Unfortunately he just doesn't look good enough.

I agree he was poor today (who wasn’t), but I disagree that he has been poor all season. He’s only made a handful of appearances due to injury and I think he’s looked pretty good in his sub cameos.

I’m not sure anyone in our current squad could come in and play 10 and play brilliantly. We are an average side at best in terrible form. We don’t look after or progress the ball well enough for a 10 to run the game.
 
I think he's going to look terrific in league one.
 
I've been on the fence with him ever since he joined us, always feeling that there was a player in there somewhere.

That feeling has gone now. He's not up to it for so many reasons. He can't really do the basics. He was out muscled off the ball so many times today and was pretty anonymous. He's sooo slow and his reading of the game is poor.

An expensive failure, I fear.
 
Still think there's a player in there. The injury really put him back at the start of the season and has been playing in a team style completely unsuited to his strengths. I actually think even today he made the odd intelligent run but very often the team is off his wavelength (BDK has struggled with this as well).

Saying that, there's a reason why he was a bit part player at Utrecht for a couple of seasons in the Eredivisie before joining us - he just may not be up to it and have the consistency to ever make it for us. But wouldn't write him completely off just yet.

Vanity signing by the board who has flattered to deceive - very expensive too apparently - both him & Prelec were out of their depth today
 
I think it’s difficult to grasp how good any attacking midfielder is at this club when we constantly pretend they aren’t there.

Rowett is kidding himself putting a 10 on the field as it’s quite clear we have zero intention of making that player key to our build up in the way most teams do. He’s just an advanced defender.

We could go on all night about the individuals but no attacking players have thrived this season, to the extent none of them have held down a position.
 
Still feels like the crossbar hit v Stoke away on debut rather set the scene for his time with us.

I agree with this.

I really wouldn't judge our attacking players based on how we have next to zero attacking identity this season. Put Romeny under a better coach and he may excel.

Krastev has regressed. Prelec has regressed. Lankshear, despite getting a much better grasp of s**t housery, has regressed. Goodrham has regressed (was a £5m player allegedly - would we get £500k now?).

Placheta, Mills, Bradshaw and Harris x 2 are what they all were. He hasn’t brought any of them on. While Dembele has vanished entirely and the two first team contracted academy players haven’t had a sniff.

Very difficult to stick it on Romeny when there isn’t a single forward player having a good season.

Totally agree, I get the impression he thinks he is better than he is. He looked like a pub team player a few weeks ago I don't remember the game

The general consensus with this lad is that ‘there’s a player in there’ - I’m past that now, he’s just too slow and too weak for Championship football. Might be handy for L1 so I’d loan him out in January, see where we are come May and decide what to do with him from there.
