Shame. A village club, much like Histon used to be. (Are they still going?)
Histon are still going, but they're now in the Eastern Counties League Premier.
After finishing 3rd in the Conference in 2008-09 (when, of course, they were inspired by 20 goals from Jack Midson; that was the year we missed out on the playoffs due to the fax machine), they've been relegated four times and are now in Tier 9...….although they're looking good for promotion this season!
Its obscenely wrong that the FA seem to do FA when grass roots clubs go bust....a bit of redistribution of some of the £ washing around the upper levels would go a long way to a fairer set up in english football....im working up in skeggy this weekend, the sad story of nffc is all over the local tv programmes....it was pointed out halifax, scarborough and other football clubs have gone bust in recentish times, but, usually down to the fan base, have regrouped reinvented themselves and reappeared and are doing ok, albeit at a lower level that before
Id guess there are many non league, one or two league ones too, in very similar situations as nfufc ....there for the grace of god etc appliesTbf, North Ferriby have been sh*t or bust for a while so with the owner pulling the funding it was always going to happen.
It could be us as well if we didn't have an owner funding the difference.
