I really wanted to reply with TL;DR but I actually did read it all.

EDIT: just realised I’m spamming so do people think the new stadium toilets will have porcelain urinals or the usual troughs?

They're going with these, but with yellow tiles obvs - it will hide the pisstains better.

Right because League 2 players need less safe surfaces to play on than the precious Championship heroes.

Reading the article about it on BBC they are portioning blame on Coventry… Birmingham 2022 have a sole use tenancy agreement but have allowed Coventry in early. The rugby 7’s matches were planned ages so Coventry should have foreseen this issue… maybe.

Do Coventry have responsibility for pitch maintenance? I was under the impression that was Wasps but could be wrong.

I would imagine if they are being allowed in the stadium sooner than they should be they should take some of the responsibility for the pitch not being ready in time for them… but I don’t know who is responsible for pitch maintenance generally.

Coventry have stated that a fresh pitch was scheduled to be laid this summer but this has not gone ahead. Sky Blues chief executive Boddy said that he is seeking “urgent talks” with Wasps and the CBS Arena, who are responsible for the pitch.
 
If a pitch is bad is in at the beginning of August what’s it going to be like in the winter after Rugby and football have been played on it? Can’t relay it now so it’s a problem that won’t go away for them. Still I really liked the casino when I went there.

Certainly not a model to follow as suggested by the opposition to Stratfield Brake as we can see here.

I can’t remember that far back. Old age! I remember them playing at Highfield Rd when they were in the premier league though, but never looked in to the reasons they left, but it was a nice ground.

Coventry never played in the Premier League at the Ricoh, they were relegated in 2001, and didn't move to their new ground until 2005.
