There are more than a few FoSB members/sympathisers who sit, as green party councillors, on CDC, - not that any of this is irrefutably provable of course, but, speculatively on my part, given there has been a LD /Green alliance in the area, I find myself wondering if certain green councillors are calling in some sort of owed favours?
At least 2 sit on the planning committee. Let’s stop making excuses on behalf of CDC and fight for our club.

Ah
From what has been posted by those who are close to this process it would seem the likes of Niall Mc Williams would fight tooth and nail to get this through as would any of us on here who are true fans
Unfortunately those on the stadium team are detached from the club and are just doing a 9 to 5 job so fight for our club, I think not

I think the clubs lawyers should do an investigation because something isn’t right!

stealing taking a salary under false pretences perhaps?

we appear to be receiving the proverbial mushroom treatment, yet again

so much for the assurances given by the top table regarding improved communication at the last Fans Forum ( which was a year ago)

I was not a fan of reducing the various layers of democratically elected councils into one unified council as I felt it would centralise decisions. Having experienced the last 3 years in trying to get a much needed community stadium and all the positive impact it will have on the county, I now feel that it would be better than what we have been experiencing recently.

Just listening to Jerome and Joeys daughter discussing the importance of listening and understanding when it comes to dealing and recognising when someone may be experiencing mental health challenges. What a difference we can make, especially when you are part of a group, such as a football club.

Forgetting the stadium issues for a moment, where would we be without our football club? Do these objectors have any idea what our football club does for the community at all levels? Where would these initiatives come from or be implemented if our beloved football club no longer existed?

The loss of such an important part of Oxfordshire would be catastrophic and those who are submitting such weak and questionable objections, should explore what Oxford United as a community supporter brings to the party.

Oxford United is not just about football, its part of life.

The objectors to the triangle stadium do not give a damn about Oxford Utd, they would be quite happy to see the club fold. CDC, also do not give a damn about Oxford Utd and will be more than happy for the club to fold. The damned Oxford Fail want Oxford Utd to close down. Why would they constantly print such tripe and lies, peddled to them by FOSB ? The Oxford Fail really are the worst of the Gutter Press!!! Bloody awful publication, and they have the bloody awful cheek to give Oxford Utd the majority of the back page, to report on match scores and team news, only to stab OUFC and its supporters in the back by printing FOSB lies! FUUK them!!!!

You’re probably correct, however taking the stadium issues out of the mix, Oxfordshire will be left with a massive void without Oxford United Football Club.

Editor Andrew Colley seems to be oblivious of the fact that without Oxford United, the local rag that he edits will fold

We won’t know what CDC think until they make a planning decision

Two things that stand out from these predictably negative diatribes:

1 - The lengthy and wordy CPRE Travel Plan analysis appears to use the current percentage of car users at The Kassam Stadium as its baseline, completely omitting that a railway station is next to The Triangle. It furthermore attempts to disprove that supporters will use P&R from the various sites around the city, because they don't use it currently, again conveniently forgetting that there are no P&R buses running to The Kassam Stadium, whereas it will be a central part of the new Travel Plan.

2 - The summary that follows the above, which waffles on about Stratfield Brake in 1936, has the punchline at the end. It is signed by John Hill. This is the guy who spoke very negatively about the club, the stadium, and the fans at the very first OCC public meeting.

The reality is that although these groups (CPRE, FOSB, CDW etc) have lofty titles and appear to speak as quasi official bodies, they are in fact a small number of self important people, and it is the same few names that keep cropping up time after time. Their opinions should carry no more weight than the average man in the street, but sadly for us it appears that they are taken more seriously because they call themselves by a fancy name. British classism is alive and well, and lives in the Oxfordshire (anti) planning process.

Superiority delusions from a handful of self important north oxford(shire) nobodies- who assume if they bluster their misinformation long and loud enough they are entitled to get their own anti progress way. They are not

Whisper it quietly i think they may of been looking at the March 2024 travel plan
And not the updated version. I've not looked at it properly and compared the 2 but this snippet from cpre suggests to me Anyway it's the wrong document

why would football supporters not WANT to pay for a bus

oh and the supporters poll that they note is CURRENT mode of transport to the kassam P&R dont currently serve the kassam stadium that is why uptake is so low
These protest groups fail to understand economics. The vast majority of park and ride sites which could be used by supporters on match days/nights are well underused. Now would it not make sense to these groups to have these vacant spaces filled and producing much needed income. There is a report in the Oxford Fail highlighting a protest group which concentrates on sewage, maybe all the B/S that FOSB etc spill out in their objections, would be a target for such a group.

As @Colin B mentions above part of the travel plan will include P& Rs linking to and from Parkway on matchdays. The objector seems oblivious that Park and rides do not solely 'include bus travel to Oxford, certainly from Thornhill, people to park and ride to London, to Gatwick and Heathrow airports. The objector is also oblivious that most P&Rs are way under anywhere near capacity ( Eynsham is for now- unused!).Park and rides are for the use of everyone, including football supporters

Park & Rides are also used to transport people to hospitals ie JRH, NOC and the Churchill.

That is such a ridiculous thing to suggest. Why are football supporters considered to be subhuman in Oxfordshire?

John Hill is an utter pillock. He very early on suggested that we should groundshare outside the county. Complete disregard for the thousands of OUFC supporters in the county and further.

These people lead very sad lives. They should get a proper hobby that doesn't try and destroy other people's enjoyment.

Agree 100 per cent with Colin. It’s as if the Parkway station does not exist in the eyes of our opponents. It’s incredible.
It’s like they think trains and train stations should not be used by football supporters!

The CPRE report is also basically stating that P&R capacity is not for football supporters either.

The report is dripping in classism.

Football supporters are not seen as humans in their eyes.

A disgusting report. I hate these incomer middle class scum thinking they are better than us.

Come on CDC don't let classism win.

How many people are happily using the special football buses to the Kassam at the moment? Must be hundreds. All happily paying the fare.
