Inclusivity is a by word these days. Does my being a meat eater mean then that I would be excluded from Middleton's vegan Utopia? Would that not be an infringement of my human rights?
At Forest Green, they will not stock any non-Vegan products. Can you imagine the uproar if any other football ground did the opposite and stocked meat only products. I get that legally Dale Vince can do this but........there should be some EFL regulation about providing food and beverage choice that provides suitable choice for all.

Mrs L went for a tea last time there. Bloody Soya bean milk or similar - it went back and was exchanged for a fizzy drink. Disgusting taste. To be fair, the staff were understanding, seen and heard it all many times before!

It’s not really the same, though. Everyone can eat vegan.

Everyone can eat meat as well, its a lifestyle choice not a requirement. We can all also go through a football match without food as well though so don't know why any of us moan, if you don't like what's on offer don't give them your money, other than an extreme example like Forest Greens owner the market will decide, if there is no market for vegan food or meat then clubs shouldn't have to sell it, not like any football fans are going to starve if they go without.

Eh? I agree the market should decide. The post I was responding to said “there should be some EFL regulation about providing food and beverage choice that provides suitable choice for all.”

For what it’s worth “everyone can eat meat as well” is pointlessly antagonistic. Giving people who like meat, only vegan options is not the same as giving vegetarians only meat-containing options.

Fond memories, at the time thinking it would be great moving to a new stadium. That all went Pear shaped! I remember when the Botley Road was being considered as a site for the new stadium. Where the retail site is now. Robert Maxwell was buying up the houses on that side of the Botley Road, so he could build the new stadium. It really would have been a great location for a 25000 seat modern stadium, half an hours walk from the City Centre too.

No 18 horspath driftway for me, big bit of land from Holloway road to the bypass.
Not to far from the manor , plus a great local pub next to it The corner house , full of Oxford United fans at the time.
I remember someone knocking on our door with a petition, asking if you would like the stadium there. My dad said yes, the look on the person's face was a delight, gutted.🤣
Alas it wasn't to be. That was long before 1996. It was a hotbed of Oxford United fans the whole of headington & Cowley was them days in fact east Oxford..
Full of houses & retail park now.
Former home to Morris motors football & hockey & weightlifting club . The bottom end Morris motors car storage..

Abingdon Town benefitted from Morris Motors' demise. A few players switched who ended up being the backbone of the team that rose up the leagues.

Dispersal orders for Oxford United v Millwall match
1 hr

A dispersal order has been issued ahead of Oxford United's match against Millwall.

Police said "a highly visible and robust policing operation" will be in place for the game at the Kassam Stadium tomorrow (November 30).

Section 35 dispersal orders will be enacted as a preventative measure to ensure the safety of fans and local communities in the area.

The orders give officers and Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) the power to disperse individuals and groups of people causing harassment, alarm or distress from the locality.

The order will be in place from 9am until 9pm tomorrow in Oxford.

In addition to this, police said they will use tactics including football spotters - undercover officers who provide live information and act as a link between the police and supporters.

Mounted officers, police dogs and drones will also be deployed to provide reassurance for our local communities, said the force.

Superintendent Adrian Hall, Strategic Commander for the Oxford United FC home game, said: “These dispersal orders are in place solely as a preventative measure for any anti-social behaviour or disorder which takes place surrounding the game.

“By activating these plans, officers have more options at their disposal to move people out of the area to reduce the likelihood of crime and disorder.

“The majority of people attending this game will be there to enjoy the football and our officers will be there throughout the day and on hand to answer any questions or concerns you may have. Please feel free to stop them for a chat.

“We continue to work with both football clubs, our partners and local communities to ensure a safe operation and prevent those who pose a risk of anti-social behaviour from impacting on others.”

No doubt fosb will be all over this

Good teams at Morris Motors& Pressed Steel over the years. Sad that both are gone.
The land where Pressed Steel used to play is still empty .BMW own it . It's a big site ,right next to Cowley train station, next to Oxford United's training ground
Have OUFC tried to get that land ??
It's even got a bus stop outside, on the way to Horsepath & Wheatley.
The only stumbling block I can think of is , BMW & road traffic. Shame really..
