I presume he is refering to his FoSB mates as 'the people who matter'?
@Sarge
I think he means CDC Planning Dept
But my point to Mr Middleton would be, why would OCC let things get so far down the line if there was a possibility we could stay or made ourselves homeless. Surely if Mr Middleton had evidence of this he would have brought it up long ago to OCC and they would have looked at it.

dont the Lib Dems own/run Oxford Clarion?

Not as far as I'm aware, their "line" is that they're more concerned with transparency in local politics and environment/transport in Oxford - why wouldn't they support development of wasteland next to a major transport hub as opposed to 000s of cars driving to the Kassam each week, and then highlight a local Green councillor colluding to stop it happening?

It's amazing that we're in 2025 and this is still being discussed by a County Councillor. It says in all OCC documents that the stadium owner terminated the licence in black and white (Point 14, p3, here).

If that wasn't the case, why would OCC even entertain this request? Even if the club did something to trigger the release (who knows if they did? I've heard rumours about disputes about the stadium agreement during the COVID years), it was still the stadium owner who pulled the plug.

I can't wait for planning permission to be granted to finally put some of these persistent insinuations in the dirt where they belong.

Clearly he is corresponding with Kassam using his official positions(s) although he carefully claims in one of the emails that he is not. Also CDC are now very much involved, as the planning authority, so one would imagine that there are grounds for complaint.
If he's signing off with that massive green signature, reminiscent of Idi Amin in his best days, then he is acting in an official capacity. I can't just hoon out a mail from my non-private work account and say "by the way, all off the record...nudge, nudge". That's not how compliance works.

That’s a real shame as Paul Batt has had the upper hand, but with that last sentence the post will be pulled and presumably Paul will be banned and Middleton won’t have to answer or claim that’s what the opposition revert to when they’re losing
He’s better than his last sentence, he’s been an absolute ray factual light on all the lies and smears. At least we all now know what Middletons agenda is, mr Batt has done more for our football club then he will ever know.

I agree, but my disputes with him were from Nextdoor where he doesn't have the ridiculous signature. Even though he was talking as a councillor (why else would I waste my time arguing with an idiot like him) he claimed it was his personal account, and the council let him get away with it.

Still, he's getting his comeuppance now in a different form, and I hope that continues until he's driven out of our local politics and our county too.

As Colin B correctly highlights that Middleton clearly states that he is writing and acting in a personal capacity and not as a councillor. Where I believe he slips up, is the full list of his positions on the many councils he sits. He also highlights the fact that he is busy campaigning to be elected during an election. If he truly was acting outside of his many councils that he sits on, he should have sent his emails free of any indication that he was indeed a councillor.

He thinks he’s being clever and covering himself, but as everyone (and I mean everybody) who has now read his cringeworthy, a**e licking email to Kassam can see, he doesn’t represent the people of Kidlington, just himself and FOSB.

He knew what he was doing listing his position on various councils, it was clearly deliberate.

Not unlike when Middleton printed a lie in his election leaflet claiming he was the only candidate who lived in the Kidlington ‘area’ when in fact the Lib Dem candidate lived in Kidlington itself, not in another village ie Yarnton.

We know Middleton eventually had to apologise, but chose to do so on a platform where nobody would see it. But the damage was already done, very convenient.

This is from the same playbook, deliberately do something which you can apologise for later (if caught) knowing full well the damage has already been done. But this time he bit off more than he could chew with Kassam who with a wave of a hand, dismissed him.

he has now edited it it just says f

The "Oooh, they did it to themselves" take on this shows another failure of those opposed to understand a reasonable proposition - in this case the understanding of what is a force majeure.

Generally, force majeure are events which could not have been foreseen or prevented by the parties concerned. It is clearly not an event which can be manufactured by either party, as this could then allow them to escape their contractual obligations without penalty.

The club may well have stated that a force majeure had occurred at the start of the pandemic, not that they were declaring one. Essentially, they are saying "this has happened" not setting one in motion.

There is a letter from FK's legal team which agrees that this is the case, which in turn allows them to invoke a clause in the contract to terminate it.

I can't see why this is still being held up as a point of contention.

The people of Kidlington are bailing us out? A huge hundred million plus outside investment into the county which will see further funds get pumped in regularly locally by fans and the owners in various shapes and forms, all for "allowing" us a tiny bit of unused scrubland that is barely in Kidlington, owned by OCC and not near to anyone's house? Strange use of the term bail out.

It isn’t, really. It’s old Chester V shouting into the ether on Nextdoor to no one in particular. OCC have made their decision based on the evidence and it’s on CDC to do their part next.

and who was it that first put this letter?? fosb of course but ian is nothing to do with them of course

Is there any “real” news regarding the planning application?

No. We’re just filling the time chatting b*****s about Middleton and getting infuriated about his claims that OUFC orchestrated the termination of the lease even though OCC know that’s not the case.

We really could do with that planning meeting soon though …

Probably does mean CDC planning ( he has a couple of KPC greens sitting on CDC council who are also his acolytes, with links to FoSB), that said, I think its fair to say that nobody really knows for sure what IM means, not even him , he has spun so many lies ( proven to be lies at that) , pedalled so many mistruths and implied so much unsupported misinformation is factual when its be proven to be anything but, even he cant know what he really means. After all he has contradicted himself, employed double standards and behaved disgracefully on so many occasions,

Of course , if there was any concrete evidence that he possessed, to back up his baseless claims, Oxon county Council simply wouldn't have agreed Heads of of Terms, nor signed the lease agreement with OUFC.
