Following this clear statement, could we now seriously consider a temporary (in real terms) 4th stand?

It appears paul batt post was removed on next door which doesn't surprise me they don't like the truth

But in true paul batt style he has just reposted the same post with added extras

That’s cowardly behaviour from Nextdoor, no doubt being pressured by certain individuals to remove a perfectly fair, honest and legitimate post.

Well done Paul Batt for reposting, it needed to be said and it needs to be read by everyone on Nextdoor.

Truth and facts matters, lies and misinformation need to be exposed.

That debate restarted here yesterday:

Indeed, it's not.

Though I know this thread loves to get...shall we say "excited"?...when it comes to poking holes in NIMBY arguments, I would say that at this point you would all just be wasting your time. No matter what response FoSB et al may have, philosophical or otherwise, the Planning Committee will have to make their decisions based upon documentation.

They have been provided written confirmation cementing the stadium's finite contract extension and clause. Even if the committee members were to get philosophical, a refusal would get absolutely destroyed upon appeal.

This well-worded press release (presumably someone on our side provided Firoz with those particular lines as part of the agreement) has all-but secured the planning permit.
And CDC would also be vulnerable to either a partial or full award of costs against them were such an appeal allowed, which members will be mindful of.

According to Roger on the BBC Oxfordshire facebook post, OUFC have lied!

Why don’t they ever state what the lie is? It’s a change of date through a temporary extension, but we still won’t have a ground to play at after a very small extend so the fact we will be homeless is true, verifiably so even in the public realm after yesterdays announcement by Firoka. So where is the lie?

There isn't one, that's why. These people are a special kind of stupid.

That headline is a disgrace but no surprise as it panders to the nimbys. I doubt Liam had anything to do with it as the editors above will have tweaked it for maximum s**t-stirring/cliicks.

It’s clear this will be Middleton/fosb’s narrative from here on in.

It’s such an incredibly weak argument though, desperate stuff.
Anyone with an ounce of intellect and integrity can see through it.

Stick to the facts.
Their lies and misinformation will continue to be exposed.

All those posts on the planning portal which claimed Kassam said we could stay at Grenoble have now all become worthless junk. He’s kicking us out in 24 months. To claim otherwise is a lie.

As infuriating as that headline is, just remembered that he OM's editor is not the one making the decisions. The committee won't be swayed by propaganda like this, as they wil have the cold hard facts to read.

As @The Mighty Aldo says, many fans will see this and think we're staying. Many will believe the lie. Yet it makes not one iota of difference in regards to the bid.

Yesterday's statement, clarifying once and for all that there will be no chance of staying at the KasStad beyond that point, will have cemented the validity of our bid beyond any administrative doubt.

So, we are now in a further period of consultation with regard to whether the Triangle is Grey belt of Green belt.
This will be finished by the end of June.
There will then be the hearing someti.e I July ( is there a date?)

Am I right that the planning officer will have made their recommendations before the meeting and CDC will need to vote for or against the planning officers recommendations?

I really don’t understand why people are being kicked off FoSB’s ND page for posting views they don’t agree with.
What is wrong with debate and dialogue? Why stick fingers in ears screaming ‘la la la I can’t hear you’? Surely these tough conversations should be expected and welcomed.
Maybe the complete evisceration of their weak and groundless arguments are too much to bare but the echo chamber theory just gains momentum until it’s just 6 extremely sour and bitter people ranting to themselves when everyone else gets on with their happy, joy-filled lives.
They’d be welcomed on here surely for some honest, balanced but firm debate.

Agree 100 percent.

You would think a parochial newspapers first and uppermost duty is to inform the public with facts. It shouldn’t act like a headline grabbing cheap tabloid. The headline in the Oxford Mail concerning the lease extension is both disingenuous and misleading. That, in my opinion, is a real failure of a local newspaper’s role.

Whilst I get the continued frustration regarding the Oxford Mail headline, it could almost play into our hands. Look at the recent consultation period. 90% of those objecting did so under the false belief that the club could remain at the Kassam indefinitely.

As mentioned above, the Planning Officer will take no notice whatsoever to headlines, social media posts or baseless objections. They will be looking at the evidence submitted and this latest statement from the club/Firoka trumps months and years of nonsense from FoSB and their cronies in one hit.

Continue to boycott the Oxford Mail, or challenge them through the letters page/social media. But don't be surprised at the depths they'll go for a few click and advertising revenue.
