Right, so in January 2023 Firoz Kassam sent an e-mail to OCC councillors and Layla Moran MP to say that the club hadn't approached Firoka since at least the beginning of 2021 about the situation at the stadium.

In January 2024, a whole 12 months later, a headline surfaced in the OF where Kassam apparently confirmed to the OF that the above was completely true. However, the club could have been in discussions with Firoka from February 2023 onwards and yet the above would have still been true as it refers to the two year period prior to 2023. The OF, with plenty of help from FoSB, made a huge and possibly incorrect assumption to state that Kassam was open to the club staying at his stadium. It's impossible to know this from the information provided. Had Firoka been approached during this period, the answer may well have been "No you can't stay".

Our new owners took over in September 2022, only 3-4 months before this e-mail was sent. It would be interesting to find out how soon they held meetings with Firoka after this, although we'll likely never know.
All the Fail wanted was to sell papers. The bait was there for Albert Tait, who finally took it then swanned off to The Telegraph soon after.

Banbury business park plans refused over impact on residents

The scheme was for more than 10 commercial units and a car park to be built on land north of Grundon in Merton Street in the town.

Some 11 people sent objections to Cherwell District Council, saying the plan would cause 'excessive' traffic and 'significant noise'.

The council's planning committee had been advised to permit the application ahead of its meeting on April 10, but decided to turn it down.

It's this in the local plan as residential area tho
Watch the video as it’s interesting to hear the objections and answers. It was a commercial site with residential properties opposite.

Warn me now if Middleton speaks please I'm just having my lunch
Billy enjoy your lunch. It’s interesting to listen to the planning officer’s recommendations to approve and those councillors who turn it down. There are imo a number of issues similar to that of FoSB, ie traffic, height of buildings, noise etc.

cdc seem to have a fetish-type of desire to pay fines using local tax payers money

I conclude that the planning officer knows his stuff and the planning committee are absolutely clueless and need better training
100% it will be over turned on appeal
Billy, did you find it a must watch? I was surprised that they went against the advice. I concur that the planning officer was on top of his brief and that some councillors just play lip service.

I fully expect that to happen with the stadium application. An appeal will be needed.
