New OUFC book: The Glory Years by Scott Walkinshaw

As it’s the Glory years how many of us where at the Everton milk cup game, Wembley and the home game against Everton in first division
I was there for MCF (20 April) and Everton home game (30 April) 1986, two of the most historic games in the history of the club within 10 days of each other and what felt like a defeat that guaranteed relegation against Ipswich between them on 26 April.
I missed Everton MC QF in '84, I was only seven and didn't get taken to my first match until April '84.

Ah that game at Ipswich. Late winner for the home side with a bit of controversy about it, then afterwards their fans flooded onto the pitch, singing about them staying up, and pelted us with coins - I've never seen so much small change in the air at one time as I did that day. It was such a pleasure to relegate them a few weeks later.

Soccerbooks do (or did - I preordered from there but the shipping is unbelievably expensive).
It didn't seem to let me, but maybe I was doing something wrong. Either way, shipping fees from the UK to the EU are absolutely outrageous (thanks Brexiteers...) so I'll get it delivered to family in England and pick it up when I visit them in March.

Book arrived today, I opened it and the page was the story of the Gary Lineker missed goal and lost boots when he was playing for Everton. An amazing incident, well done PRB. Read it yourselves it is an eye opener. If this is an example of the stories in the book it will be a great read.

I cannot recall that Chester game but I remember Ian Greaves 1st game v Charlton, Paul Berry with the only goal I think. I was single in those days so I went to a good few away matches as well as having a ST. What memories.

My copy arrived in Perth this morning. The boy saw it and said “ooh oxblogger’s book” so I’m obviously raising him well.

Thank you to everyone who purchased Scott Walkinshaw's "The Glory Years: Oxford United in the 1980s." We're delighted to confirm that all orders—both domestic and international (and there were many!)—were shipped on the publication date. Similarly, all orders for "Mad Dog: The Mickey Lewis Story" by Leo Ackerman and Alex Urwin have also been dispatched.
Best regards,
The Soccer Books UK Team

Mine arrived yesterday, had a quick flick and almost got pulled in much to the chagrin of MrsEY(Mk2)......... had to put it down.

Well written, captures "how it was" and plenty of the back stories.

Excellent!!
