Can't believe what I'm seeing, went out to get some bread thinking, no worries, got a gap in between news bulletins, get back and read that the club have made another complete cock up of the announcement!

You really couldn't make it up, just one comms failure after another. This is why the management don't talk to us, they are incapable of getting their act together.

It is a mistake that happens a lot. But this isn't just a mistake, it's the latest in a whole train of total screw ups from a boardroom that paints itself as some sort of best practice deity in how to run a football club. A website faux pas is one thing, a website faux pas after failing to pay a loan player's parent club, releasing the most awful club shop tat in the opposition's colours before one of the biggest games in our history, releasing crap to sell after we've won, releasing a new kit days before the season, sacking a popular manager in 80 words, promising regular communications and lying through their teeth, and replacing club stalwarts with dour corporates doesn't inspire you with much belief does it?
but apart from all that, everythings fine ... isn't it?

They won't have any problems doing that to be fair. They've got a patented two pronged strategy that they successfully deployed countless times.

1) Silence
or
2) Say it's done now, get over it

As long as this is followed by never mentioning it again and never taking any responsibility or looking to improve then they're golden.
Ohhh, Is Leysboy Tim Williams?

As a media comms person myself, I imagine the Oxford Mail and BBC Radio Oxford are fuming. Sky Sports have basically got the scoop while they've been forced to sit on an embargo which is already broken. If they publish their stories before the club they'll get a slap on the wrist, if they don't they look silly.

In terms of the impact, no, it's not that big. We all knew Rowett was getting appointed and it won't change that.

But it is very basic. And when you add up all the basic things, then the sum of those is a big deal. Especially when you throw in that some of the other things are a big deal in their own right, like forgetting to pay for Matete and getting ourselves a transfer embargo during a transfer window.
Exactly this, and it isn't a sign of being a good supporter if you minimise it either. I recall there were more than a handful of people after the Matete fiasco who were more than happy to say "it's done now, time to move on". I wonder if not being able to sign football players for a week or more in pre season has any impact on a football club being able to prepare for their first season in the Championship for 25 years? I suspect it might have.

It's perfectly ok to hold them to account.

It’s not really a big deal though, is it? The horrifying fact is that not everyone who works for the club has the time or energy to double check everything, every single time. s**t happens.

You have redefined the concept of having a job for me there, just don't have the time and energy to go back to work after break so I am going to go home instead.

I would go further and say that it is a necessity. The more they realise what fools they are making of themselves the more likely they are to get it right first time.
Conversely, what sort of impression does this sort of thing leave on, not just us "customers" but the general media and, in this instance, Gary Rowett? Many will say that is an exaggeration but, the principle is there.

thats spot on @Manorlounger , not an exaggeration (IMO)

Poor on so many levels and worrying tbh. You can see why we end up under embargo’s or stadium f*ck ups etc.

Don’t get me wrong, the shambles of it is amusing but as a supporter of the club I find it deeply disappointing. If this was in business, particularly financial institutions or listed companies, there would be serious issues. I appreciate that we’re essentially amateur hour and not a FTSE or AIM company but this is poor.

OxVox or whoever need to be speaking to the club about this. It’s one of a long list of errors and it comes from poor management at the top.

Baffled at to what the delay is. Was told 11am. 2 hours later and all we’ve seen is a website f**k up and Sky reporting it at 12.

Tinpot is the word.
Perhaps he’s going straight into the first team at centre back, so a late medical needed? Mind u he should pass one of those easily!!

The fun now will be seeing how they attempt to dig themselves out of this ineptitude….

I’m looking forward to the Club’s statement on the matter via OUSP, putting half the blame on Leeds United, followed by a whinging one from OxVox a week later, all the while Adam Benson is running round saying “nothing to do with me guv”

"We didn't think there was enough demand to know the new managers name, based on data"
