General Most You've Celebrated An Oxford Goal

I don't think I'll ever experience something like Hall's goal at the dump again. Absolute euphoria.

Martinez' at Boro also sticks out for me. We went tumbling.

Beano's at home vs Rushden in the second leg of the playoffs is perhaps the most emotional I've felt after a goal.

Some from more recent memory:

- Ruffels away at Shrewsbury (just before covid)

- Jerome Sinclair away at Walsall

- Henry away at Doncaster

- I also really enjoyed Baptiste's vs West Ham. The celebration wasn't wild as we were already comfortably ahead, but it was the cherry on the cake of what was one of the best ever performances at the Kassam

Surprised it hasn’t been mentioned but Davey Sloans diving header against the scum in the 70s and in front of the London Road!

I know it sounds weird to say now we're in the Championship, but there were some really special wins in non league and games with electric atmosphere

Hall vs Scum..... was just on the right eye line to know it was going in

Jefferson Louis vs Scum.

Dave Langan vs Arsenal.

Joey B v Blackpool

Joey B v Tranmere

Jim Magilton (I think) v Pompey in "that" 5-5 draw.

Alfie Potter.............

And there are more!
Portsmouth 5:5....wasn't that chrissy A?

For those saying Dunkley v Wycombe, pretty sure the 3rd goal (O’Dowda) might have had even more energy. 30secs later we were all on the pitch!!

Eastwood's penalty save winning us the shootout vs Sunderland to reach the league cup quarter finals - I went f*****g mental!
I really miss that London Road classic song: “let’s go f*****g mental, let’s go f*****g mental, La La La La, Oo, La La La La, Oo”. Being that back please East Stand’ers.

Going 1 0 up at old trafford (brocky) it was 1 1 by the time the celebration finished.

And some of our darkest days.

Northwich Victoria away. There was maybe 600 people there. It was December. It was f*****g miles away. And we lost 1-0.

Just about the only thing I miss from the national league days was “my garden shed” and “s**t ground no fans”

My favourites are all from the Manor (great atmosphere standing on the Beech Road Terrace) or Wembley(s).

Steve Biggins winner v Man Utd Milk Cup 2nd replay 19 Dec 1983 First time I saw us beat a so called big club.

Dave Langan winner v Shrewsbury Wed 24 April 1985 confirming OUFC in top flight.

John Aldridge 23 Nov 1985 4-3 winner v Ipswich after being 0-3 down

Trevor Hebberd, Ray Houghton, Jeremy Charles v QPR Wembley 20 April 1986 OUFC winning silverware? Just amazing.

Joey Beauchamp 1-0 v Blackpool April 6 1996 Stunning 35 yard Easter Saturday volley that set us up for promotion the following month.

Alfie Potter v York City Wembley 16 May 2010 Back on the coupon!

Biggest celebration for a non-OUFC goal: May 2 1992 for David Speedie keeping us up with his hat-trick for Blackburn beating Plymouth after we won at Tranmere on the last day of the season
Late to this thread but that’s a great list and very similar to my own. Would add in Keith Cassels away to Brighton in the FA Cup and Rob Hall away to Swindon.

Biggest celebration was probably Alfie Potter - pure limbs - given its significance and the fact that it guaranteed the win. Closely followed by Joey’s screamer vs Blackpool.

I have a newspaper cutting with 'Anatomy of a Cassels goal' as the headline to a set of photos. Back when the Oxford Mail was a good paper.

Alex Dyer away at Leicester, last minute winner.

Jumping up and down on seat which broke whilst celebrating. Anyone who went to Filbert Street will know that the away end was lower than pitch level

Thanks for such a brilliant thread and thanks to everyone for bringing back all those special memories.
I can’t add much but I do remember David Rush getting a last gasp winner at Cambridge, just seconds after they’d equalised, right in front of the open terrace full of Oxford fans 1990/91 ish?
And finally, Joe Cooke heading the only goal in front of the Oxford fans at Elm Park 1980/81 ish?

I was there that day as well, fantastic win, just when the home fans were giving us stick for throwing away a 2-1 lead really late in the game 😁

David Penney at the County Ground, knocked a poor old fella over bundling down the terrace. He continued to celebrate on the floor, once I checked he was ok. 1st Murphy goal at Wembley was similar in turns of setting off down the stairs towards the pitch in elation...

2-2, midweek, bicycle kick equaliser late in the game? I was there, we were crammed into a corner terrace that night. I remember they wanted to keep us locked in after the game, but the Oxford fans just pushed up against the exit doors until they were forced to open them.
