General Most You've Celebrated An Oxford Goal

WE Yellow

As per title, been having a discussion with my Dad and brother about our most euphoric moments celebrating.

The obvious ones
Potter at Wembley
Murphy (either goal) at Wembley
Dunkley v Wycombe

A special mention
Ledson v Charlton
Martinez v Boro
Sercombe v Carlisle
Hall v Swindon

One less obvious one for me is Roofe's v Notts County in 2016. We had just gone 3-2 up and the pattern of the game said Notts would equalise and we were under the cosh, then we counter and Roofe lashes it home. That was the moment I knew that we had a serious chance of promotion, and it started one of the best weeks of following OUFC ever, with the cup wins vs Swansea and Millwall following.

Brannagan vs Peterborough in the semi-final. Think every supporter in that ground was expecting the next one from Pbo after they got a first.

Seconding Oli Johnson against Swindon.

Jordan Bowery against Portsmouth and Jordan Bowery against Wimbledon - winners out of nowhere.

Hoban equaliser against Luton - never had such a big celebration for such a modest goal, that didn't even win a game.

Brannagan vs Peterborough in the semi-final. Think every supporter in that ground was expecting the next one from Pbo after they got a first.
It might have been this goal that I found myself hugging a complete stranger. Hadn't even made eye contact up to that point. It felt good, would try it again.

Last season was highly emotional for me. Tyler Goodrham has made me cry before. So did Murphy's second at Wembley.

Love so many of the contenders already mentioned! I remember Constable scored a late winner in a night game at Crawley in the Conference promotion season that created proper scenes.

Another recent favourite of mine is Henry at the death at Hillsborough. One of my favourite away trips in the last few seasons.

There's the obvious ones - Potter, Murphy x 2, Dunkley.

Joey's goal against Chelsea in the FA Cup in 93/94 season, and Alex Dyer and Matt Elliot's goals against Leeds in the FA Cup the same season, were amazing moments as well.

Eastwood's penalty save winning us the shootout vs Sunderland to reach the league cup quarter finals - I went f*****g mental!

Then Holland scoring to take the quarter final to extra time - again, I lost my s**t!

Bill Calder makes it 3-1 against Blackburn Rovers in 1964. Took United into the last eight of the FA Cup..........in front of 22000. Secondly, Les Phillips makes it 2-0 against the Villa, Semi Final Milk Cup 1986.

Mickey's long range effort in the mid 90's, against I think Stockport, sent the Manor crazy!

As his number 1 fan at the time, I was beside myself!
I celebrated his 1-yard tap-in away to Derby just as much as that. 2-2 draw, blazing sunshine, loud away support. Great day, shame we couldn't hold on for 3 points.

Edit: And his winner away to Watford in a 1-0 win at Vicarage Road. He strode through the middle of their defence before firing home.

What a legend.

The Grazioli own goal to put us 1-0 up against Peterborough just after half time. We won 4-0 but added spice was the first goal.
Joey scoring against Swindon on his return in a yellow shirt.
Any of the six against Shrewsbury. All headed goals.
Trevor Hebberd against QPR at Wembley.

Potter at Wembley, it was so important and guaranteed our place back in the League.
I remember screaming at Deering to give it back to Alfie, and ERUPTED when he scored!

Like you say, it was so important that we won that game, and I don't mind admitting, I was in tears for those last few minutes :ROFLMAO:

My favourites are all from the Manor (great atmosphere standing on the Beech Road Terrace) or Wembley(s).

Steve Biggins winner v Man Utd Milk Cup 2nd replay 19 Dec 1983 First time I saw us beat a so called big club.

Dave Langan winner v Shrewsbury Wed 24 April 1985 confirming OUFC in top flight.

John Aldridge 23 Nov 1985 4-3 winner v Ipswich after being 0-3 down

Trevor Hebberd, Ray Houghton, Jeremy Charles v QPR Wembley 20 April 1986 OUFC winning silverware? Just amazing.

Joey Beauchamp 1-0 v Blackpool April 6 1996 Stunning 35 yard Easter Saturday volley that set us up for promotion the following month.

Alfie Potter v York City Wembley 16 May 2010 Back on the coupon!

Biggest celebration for a non-OUFC goal: May 2 1992 for David Speedie keeping us up with his hat-trick for Blackburn beating Plymouth after we won at Tranmere on the last day of the season
