Dot Counting Millwall Home Ticket Thread 1st November (3:00pm)

Attendance tracking
๐Ÿ˜ at the moment of writting this morning is 150. So I speak only with the given figures at the moment๐Ÿ˜‡. At the moment, the numbers are right .

View attachment 31682
Those figures are "live" figures for an exchange that is currently open. There are more seats being added, and some sold, all of the time. For instance at this moment in time there are 172 seats available on the exchange, and 19 have been sold since it opened, so the "live" figure is 191, meaning it has gone up by 31 since the post you copied (there were also 10 sold tickets referenced in that post). It will without any doubt be considerably higher by Saturday, and that is the figure that will be the true number of people that will have used the exchange.

Stop trying to be a smartarse.

I don't intend to be a smartarse, i'm just replying to your figures. Nothing more

I find that subject about ticket exchange too big for what it is really.

So, I'm not arrogant, and as you don't know me, so please don't use those words๐Ÿ˜‰. I respect your work, research and view, respect mine without using disrespectful words๐Ÿ˜‰.

I'll stop here๐Ÿ˜‰

I'll stop here too, as all I wanted to do was correct erroneous figures, whilst passing no comment at all.

But you're the one who kept pushing, and all of my replies to you were very polite. However, you then kept going and thought you'd caught me out by copying a post without really understanding the context of it, even though I had earlier posted the numbers from completed games, and explained that was the rationale behind my 3.98% figure.

This stuff isn't a five minute job, and I don't expect thanks or praise, but neither do I expect people trying to trip me up, and that's how your post came across. We've all got our breaking point, and you found mine.

PUBLIC HEALTH WARNING: SOME OF YOU MAY GET ANGRY WHEN READING THIS UPDATE

Update at midnight Monday.

Sales have gone backwards!!!

We now have 866 original GA seats available. That's the bad news, but there are pockets of good news too. The club added back in 120 seats in Blocks 1, 9, and 12 (Restaurant) but at least they've done it earlier this time, so that's a positive. If we take this into account we actually sold 86 seats in the previous 24 hours.

We are still ahead of Coventry sales at the same point, but now slightly behind Sheff Utd. I'd still expect 9,700/9,800 as we shouldn't now see any seats added in by the club. Daily sales are actually quite good and should increase in the coming days.

The exchange now has exactly 150 seats available, most in NS Family and ES. Five exchange seats were sold in the previous 24 hours and a grand total of ten have now been sold.
Update as of midnight Tuesday.

Nearly 100 sold in the previous 24 hours, total, 86 original seats and 11 exchange seats. We now have 780 original seats remaining, and all extras usually added in by the club have already been added. We're now 200 ahead of Coventry at this stage and marginally behind Sheff Utd and Derby, so I'll stick with my 9,700/9,800 forecast, which gives us a total of 11,200/11,300. We look like beating last season's corresponding fixture, for home fans, by 200/300.

Exchange continues to grow and at midnight there were 178 exchange seats for sale, with 21 sold, so 199 people had used the exchange at that point.

Sales usually pick up from here, so should be 100+ per day, plus on the day sales, and box sales still to be added in.

Last year's home fixture vs Millwall was a Saturday 12:30 kick-off with a home attendance of just 9503. While that does affect crowds slightly, (Derby two weeks ago 12:30 9713), we had 9886 vs Leicester in September. However as ST holders are always included as 7200. That means the general sale tickets vary from 2303 to 2686 for the 12:30 games

I'm not sure what point you're trying to make Mark?

GA ticket sales vary for all matches, irrespective of kick off time, that's why I do the dot counting.

Anyone else having trouble getting onto the seating map of the ticket site?

I can access the site, look at away tickets, including buying them, but can't get on the home seating map for any game. I've tried both Safari and Chrome.
the same for me

Iโ€™d reiterate what Iโ€™ve said previously about the inability to completely sell out and what puts people off coming to home games. Itโ€™s the fact that public transport to the stadium is poor and fairly minimal, when u consider all the different locations people come from. Even more so parking is a massive factor and the time u need to allow to get to a home game. The roadworks are also a total pain in the a**e at present and another massive negative in terms of getting to the stadium and leaving the area after matches. I know all these factors really do put people off.

Was the stadium in a different area last season then? Public transport and the lack of was the same last season when we were selling out every game.
Granted that road works will have a slight impact.

We didn't sell out every game last season though Steve.

Our home fans only average last season (excluding the ticket exchange) was 9,916. This season it is 9,841. So a difference of only 75. I've posted an entire thread on the subject, which you were the first person to comment on, so you have read it. The reality is that the circumstances affecting home games are, as you say, pretty similar, but so are the attendances.

Iโ€™m assuming first season back in the Championship was the reason most sold out last season, now that novelty has worn off for some, other factors become more of a reality.

Ok, the sales are similar but it does feel more of a drag to get tickets sold this season than it was last.

So should the club sell another 200 STs? Or half-season tickets?
They should not have stopped selling them when they did in 2024, and should have set the limit higher this season than they have. As I've said before, if we had another 200 or 400 season ticket holders I don't think we'd be having these discussions.

I can't believe the club turned people away when they did, and then repeated it this year. For all I know there might only be 100 on the waiting list, in which case not selling them season tickets is even more ridiculous.

The income argument is negligible and for a club recently getting crowds of 8,000 to be turning people's guaranteed money away is foolish, bordering on arrogant.

Given that every home game we have hundreds of unsold tickets a week before match day I think a hundred or 200 more season tickets sold now would please those fans on the waiting list (if there is still one), and bring in cash now rather than match by match over the rest of the season. Having those season tickets sold also gives more justification for ticket exchange for the popular games as there are fewer original tickets available. Also if the "new" ST holders are doing it for a guaranteed seat in the Championship, they are committing to another ST next season if they do want to get their exchange credit.

Although unlikely, if we were in the play-offs in the Championship, I think we'd be selling out those games. (Though the Peterbrough POSF only had a home attendance of 9647). Evenso, all but two or three of our Championship games have had higher published home attendances.

Iโ€™d let the waiting list get a half ST but they need to do it now before too many seats are sold for the Christmas games.

Update to midnight Wednesday.

Slightly lower than expected sales in the previous 24 hours of 83 tickets, made up of 70 original seats and 13 exchange seats. It's almost certainly been affected by yesterday evening's ticket site outage. I was expecting 100+ so I hope sales recover today now that the problems are resolved. It was in the early evening, which is one of the busier online ticket buying periods.

We're now just under 9,100 home GA sales, so with 200 added in for the executive boxes, we are currently 200 short of last season's home attendance for the same fixture. We should comfortably surpass that, but my forecast of 9,700/9,800 home fans relies on decent sales today, so I'll maybe review it tomorrow morning.

The ticket exchange continues to see more seats added than sold, with 195 seats available at midnight and a total of 34 sold, so 229 people had used the exchange at this point.

2pm update on Thursday and currently 868 home seats available - 683 original seats and 185 exchange tickets.

By stand these are split - North 109 (53/56), East 106 (37/69), South Lower 417 (380/37) and South Upper 236 (213/23).

Looked at sales for Boxing Day (home to Southampton) & only 411 original seats left for that one at this early stage - North 66, East 114, South Lower 137 & South Upper 94.

I bought a ticket for this game but unfortunately now canโ€™t make it. Itโ€™s free to a good home or for a donation to the Joey B Foundation. Please DM me if youโ€™re interested. Iโ€™m not entirely sure how to transfer it but Iโ€™m sure thereโ€™s a way.
East Stand, Block 20.
Just donโ€™t want to waste it.
