Nope, we are weak at leftback. Garbutt hasn't worked out, Ruffels isn't a leftback and often looks out of position IMO.

From what I have read this kid has bags of potential but is nowhere near the first team.
I am not sure that he has been a regular in the U23s.
If you think that Ruffels is sometimes out of position how do you think a young player who apparently needs to work on his defensive play would look in the first team?

Yes but the management clearly think he is nowhere near ready.
It us a huge jump from the Youth Team to the first Team. That is what the U23s is for.
Do you think that Milner plays out of position at left back for Liverpool?
I reckon Ruffels is a decent left back at league 1 evidenced by out record since he played there.

very impressed. He was a constant threat with the ball all night.

As I understand it, he isn’t a left back but has previously been played at centre half and on the wing so like Ruffles is only learning his trade in his current position. One for the future but i wouldn’t want to throw him in at the deep end just yet.
