This looks like another really impressive piece of business, welcome Matt! With Ingram, Bennett and Vaulks as well there's some really good Championship experience in this team now.

A great signing - not only for what he brings on the pitch but what he can do off it. Players like Matt and Will Vaulks will add wisdom to the squad and will lay a marker down on how the rest of the team should behave (not that I have any complaints on that score last season) when the going gets tough. Cant imagine anyone downing tools (even if it happened which I doubt) with those two around.

Also, if anyone downed tools in front of Cameron Brannagan I would consider them brave or stupid.

Out injured with "no timeframe" on his return as per Des on the Dub.
Sounds rather ominous...

The thing is though, Bennett is out "till January" which is in 4 months, so why say "no timeframe" with Phillips?
The challenge seemed innocuous enough as well.
All very puzzling.
It's a similar injury to what he had at WBA .He won't be back until next yr .

Some rotten luck with injuries for us, it must be said. Shame as he looked as though he was going to be a real threat for us. Missing him, Cam, Bennett and probably McEachran as well is frustrating since that’s a huge portion of our experience and leadership gone.

No shortage of replacements but we’ll need a few to step forward as leaders in the next run of games.

Time for Will Vaulks to step up.

Yeah, certainly one of those we’ll be looking to, I’m sure. McEachran has been one of our most influential performers so that’s a huge miss. But this is where we’ll learn a lot about our squad and our longevity this season. It’s also why obsessing over who is where in the pecking order is a waste of time because this kind of thing is not unusual for any club.
