Watching the interview, it's plain that he's big on both "connections" and "integrity".

I watched this and felt impressed tbh. Let’s hope this works out for us him and the club.
Feel excited at long last. Won’t be at mk tonight but can’t want for the Bristol and Qpr games

Great interview, to be fair. Easy to say they all are with an editing hand but I can guarantee it wouldn’t be with Manning, Sheehan or Still, who would leave you feeling flat as a pancake.

Engaging, steely, committed. Everything you want in our situation. Let’s hope the players receive it the same way and get stuck in.

Might be the bargain bucket but at least there is an obvious personality there and someone who gets it.

If the same group of staff he’s taken with him everywhere don’t come with him then it’s time we get more vocal calling for a change of our SMT.

We shall see.
Don't agree.
Rowett brought in his assistant. If Bloomfield brings an assistant then that would make sense.
Not sure that a Manning situation ( clearing out many established staff) is necessarily a good idea?
I reckon it is not unreasonable for him to work with Short, Hackett, Price. If they don't work out then fine.

Dam it man you could have waited to see what the result is tonight……..
Never did with Horton and what's good for Brian is good for Matt.

What worries me above anything else us and Luton just follow each other in absolutely everything

Div 2 champion luton 81-82
Oxford 84-85

League cup oxford 86 Luton 88

Relegated to non league Luton quickly followed us
We get out of non league Luton follow

Luton go up the leagues
We follow shortly after

Luton get planning permission for new stadium
Oxford get planning shortly after

Luton appointment of bloomfield
We shortly follow with same appointment

🤣🤣🤣

Exactly - most esp. as he said he has worked with Hackett Price and Mitchell already. Additional specialist coaching perhaps and/or Assistant Manager Coach of course.

By that logic, maybe we're on our way to the Premier League first!

Speaks very well!

Welcome Matt!
Just so you know, we have lots of players not performing, not creating, not scoring, not keeping clean sheets, not getting results, and the atmosphere in the stands is very flat and uninspired.

If you could change ALL OF THAT please Matt, that'd be great!

Good luck!

Easy to fall for a lot of the new manager spiel but that's an impressive, engaging, interview - very clear on what he wants and what he expects. Love his enthusiasm too, there's a half smile permanently on his face and he looks and sounds like he's ready to tackle this head on !

Welcome and good luck, Matt Bloomfield.

That was something that leapt out at me.

"An announcement regarding any additions to Matt’s coaching staff will be made in due course."

If he gets the same runaround that Des suffered then the SMT will deserve every criticism going. Nobody likes to see staff leave but, if the new man works best with his own team around him, then that's what he should get. Manning turned up with an entourage and it worked.
Nothing against any of the current coaching staff but this is football and it's a hard world.

I hope that any announcement has just been delayed to finalise contracts, salary etc. I would also hope that Shorty's contribution is recognised. Perhaps Hacket could return to his previous role. Vital, at this time, is that our status as a Championship side is made safe. Anything else is secondary.
To be marginally fair, Des did originally want people that couldn't get work permits.

Welcome Matt, and good luck for a massive half a season! You do your job to the best of your ability and I'm sure us fans will do our job each and every game, home and away to give the team the support they need!

It's a team effort from here on out, we are all in this together, and hopefully if we all pull in the same direction we can beat the drop!! COYY!! 💛

Welcome MB, let’s get this done. 👍

Welcome Matt. Let’s get behind him for the next games and try and stay up….lets stick with him and not change. Better football guaranteed

And to praise Bloomfield, that is a good, engaging first interview. Thinking about Monotone Manning and that smirk he’d have had in this interview if he’d have got it. Probably making some AI-crafted jokes about how he left last time without ever acknowledging any kind of remorse - makes my skin crawl!

At least MB looks like he wants to be dynamic and combative. It’s so frustrating we couldn’t have sorted this right after the Sheff Utd game so he could already have had his first week on the training ground and a literal free hit game tonight to start putting his ideas into practice.

I don't know a great deal about Bloomfield but I did like his interview!

Come on Shorty give him an FA Cup fourth round tie so he can start on a positive note!

Good luck Matt, I think there's more talent in our squad than we've seen to date.
