BBC News - Man Utd to build 'iconic' £2bn 100,000-capacity stadium close to Old Trafford - BBC Sport

Looks a bit ridiculous to me, something you'd expect to see in the middle east as an oil money vanity project.

Wonder if local "environmental" groups will be comparing it to the height of lampposts with those monstrosity towers?

Lets see if they try to get taxpayers to cover some of it, as per their original plan

Yes, they are definitely trying to sell it as an urban regeneration project.

But will they have to close roads on matchdays.....

Looks stunning ..... Stand out comment at the unveiling for me ? "You will be able to see the masts from Liverpool !"

You'd think that the build timeline will have a good chance of coinciding with Man Utd's return to the top if Ratcliffe gets this right. Lot of work to be done on and off the pitch before then though.

Man Utd's return to the top? it's not a natural state of affairs you know. By then they'll be in the championship and Orient top of the PL.

What I saw not long ago that I never really realised was the away fans above the home fans. Must be difficult having the away team Celebrate right in front of you every time they score.

£1bn in debt............. no plan for funding it............ ready in 5 years? 😂 😂 😂

Methinks they are far too reliant on the "brand value" .............

Spurs stadium MK 2 isn't it and will prob. be on over run and overspend and spurious functions et al.

Should build it near Plymouth so not so far to travel for a lot if their support..
