General Manager Sack Watch

Can definitely see Robins pitching up at Bolton. Evatt won’t survive yesterday’s mauling, in my opinion that will be one game too far for the patience of their owners. I think he managed Rotherham once too, a return there might be another possibility for him.
I agree that I can't see Evatt lasting but I can't see Robins going there. He is much better than league 1.

Edwards has a promotion to the premier league which might keep him safe, QPR manager got them safe last season but that’s not as much credit on the bank to save him.

I saw the recent post match interview with him, the WBA game possibly, and he didn’t look in a good way. Looked genuinely exhausted and as if the job was just getting too much for him. A good chance he might walk before he’s pushed, I think Luton will be reluctant to publicly sack him after what’s he’s done there and it could be one of those ‘we’re sacking you but we’ll call it mutual consent’ parting of the ways.

Time to put a sneaky bid in for Dion Charles..? 😁 In my humble opinion he would be the type of player who could make the difference in staying up or going down

More likely Southampton or Wolves, possibly Luton, Cardiff or QPR

He won’t get a PL job in my opinion. He’s undoubtedly a good manager but is quite reserved and maybe lacks that bit of X factor for a PL position. You’d also have to ask why the PL now when he’s been sacked after having overseeing one of his worst starts to a season? Any PL club could have prised him away from Coventry in the past 6 or 7 years when he’s had relative success? Why now and why didn’t they then?

Your second team were having a serious look at him last season when they were debating whether or not to stick with ETH or not. I can see a club like Southampton going for him who know they will be in the Championship next season.

Considering the issues Robins has had to deal with at Coventry over the years then I would say the job he has done there is even more incredible.

He is an out of work English manager who has just been sacked from a fairly unfashionable championship club and has never managed in the top flight here or abroad, he has as much chance of getting a premier league job as people on here do.

Bolton is probably a good shout for him, another slightly underperforming club to build back into a championship club.

Man U were looking at Robins? Even with his history there that would have been the most shocking big club appointment for a long time, it obviously didn’t happen and I doubt it was ever that serious a look.

He was on one of the initial lists of managers they were looking at. As we all know though, he didn't get it and like you said it would have been seen as a shocking appointment.

My point more was to do with the fact that I think his stock is a lot higher than a mid table league 1 team.

Well, let’s see who’s ultimately right - me or you. I’m saying top end L1 club, in terms of club size. I guess you’re saying Championship or PL. Whatever I say you will disagree with, that’s just you, Earlier in the week I advocated changes for Watford, particularly the return of Kioso and Ruben. You rubbished that, agreeing instead with your mate who said why change a winning team - despite toiling for long periods against a fairly underwhelming Hull. Lo and behold what did Des do ? Start Kioso and Ruben.

I am saying he has the skill set and ability to go to a club anywhere in the Championship and clubs such as Southampton, Leicester, Wolves and Palace. He is certainly better than a club which currently sits 10th in League 1 IMO.

Which begs the question why has no PL club - for example the likes of those you describe - tried to get Robins out of Coventry in the last 7 years? That’s a hell of a lot of struggling clubs and sacked managers in that time. I’d suggest there’s a reason for that.

Wrong name, age and profile though, that counts for more than actual success nowadays.

Building Bolton into a competitive Championship side is doable for him as well, keeping Southampton up is fairytale with a nice pay off in a few months.

Managers don’t become poor overnight. Absolutely mental to me that Luton would consider sacking the man who got them to the prem, or that Coventry would sack the man who has revolutionised that club, after a poor dozen games or so.

Can see Hull’s manager getting the nudge and Robins going there. And I think that would be a superb appointment for them.

This is the international break which is where a lot of clubs will think about twisting.

Luton, QPR, Southampton and Man City could be looking to change managers.
I've not been following the Prem, so no idea what's going on there, but Man City must be imploding if they're considering sacking Pep after all he's done for them.

But yes, as mentioned, Luton, QPR, Rotherham and Bolton will be considering a switch, and I'd also throw Wigan in the mix too. Peterborough are underachieving, but I reckon the deluded Scott still has time.

Hadn't clocked Robins had been sacked. To echo what has seemingly been said since, strikes me as a rather silly move.
