It was Fulham 0 Man U 2, a boy at school was a United fan and got a load of us to go with him. I hadn't really been into football much before that. Certainly in my lifetime Man U have had some very mediocre periods, as have Arsenal and Spurs and of course Man City, but if you're younger you'll only have a PL perspective.

It does my head in catching a phone-in where some thick accented bloke from Ipswich or Lyme Regis comes on talking about 'us' and 'we' when referring to Man United/Liverpool/insert as applicable.

Of course, any reasonable person would raise an eyebrow and wonder why I'm bothered - which is of course why I'm posting here.

Steady on. It's more Birmingham teams and Londoners down here. But yeah. There are also Exeter supporters and, over in Bridport, even Yeovil supporters.

it’s a bit harsh on the young lads who have just won the youth cup that their glory isn’t being recognised at the clubs awards night. I suppose it’s the first team that matters though and I think it’s fair enough from them that they feel they’re undeserving - a bit of humility at last.

I’m skeptical of the humility aspect. Maybe I’m by a bit cynical.

Relax, I'm sure someone has/will lost/lose their job over it.

The worrying thing for Man Utd fans must be that they currently seem to be ‘big six’ side in by far the worst shape. They’re never going to overtake the top 3 next season and Spurs look to be progressing far better than them, and Arsenal at least have a crop of promising youngsters. Even more tough times ahead it seems, at least for the next 2-3 seasons…

Honestly, people get so upset nowadays, it's obviously a mistake but it's harmless. If those delicate little flowers at Man U take offence then they need to get some ear defenders for the next trip to Old Trafford so they don't hear what opposition fans sing about them.

Agreed. Often the same people who throw out the phrase "snowflakes" are the same to cry about any slight injustice that affects them. I think it's been confirmed it was an error by an intern writing some dummy text that accidentally made it live. As far as errors go it's hardly in the same league as spending £80m on Maguire, £75m on Sancho, £35m on Van de Beek, £50m on Wann-Bissaka, £55m on Fred, £86m on Pogba etc etc ad infinitum. Blanking the BBC because of it, Christ alive grow up.
