Oxford fans said O'Donkor would never score goals at League 1 level.West Ham fans said that Nathan Holland was too good for League One and would score a goal a game.
Been impressed with Harris when he plays behind Donk, too. It’s a risk but I wonder if Ramsey might look at Dembele in the 10 behind O’Donkor, with Lynch and Missanga wide. Could work. Goodrham is miles off it.
Mo can't play all game every game though, and it can sometimes be detrimental if you rely on a young player too much too soon (I mean, just look at how Karl used Donks). I think Missanga will feature plenty this season, but I don't think he's ready to be a consistent starter for us week-in, week-out yet, which is where options like Lynch come inHe looks really strong and ready for league 1 based on that YouTube video.
I'm nervous that he blocks missanga, who I thought, after an extremely nervous start, looked like a really exciting prospect as he ghosted past players and won the ball back a few times too.
Anyway, of all the wingers I think dembele is still bottom of my list as he still flatters to deceive and plays way too many loose passes that can lead to danger.
Yes standard quote that. We probably gave him a card to read it from"As soon as I spoke to the Club and heard about the plans for the season, it felt like a really good opportunity for me."
High quality ambiguity, that. Tricky winger indeed.
While we might not agree on the death penalty or the causes of potholes, here we can agree 100%The EFL are making it up as they go along............. thats my understanding.
It’s quite a lightweight three (but so is Goodrham to be fair) but it would be so much fun to watchIt’s a risk but I wonder if Ramsey might look at Dembele in the 10 behind O’Donkor, with Lynch and Missanga wide. Could work. Goodrham is miles off it.
Totally agree with that. He has bags of potential but we can’t run him into the ground at such a young age.Mo can't play all game every game though, and it can sometimes be detrimental if you rely on a young player too much too soon (I mean, just look at how Karl used Donks). I think Missanga will feature plenty this season, but I don't think he's ready to be a consistent starter for us week-in, week-out yet, which is where options like Lynch come in
I thought Missanga was good in the second half, but looked shattered later on.Mo can't play all game every game though, and it can sometimes be detrimental if you rely on a young player too much too soon (I mean, just look at how Karl used Donks). I don’t think it’s a coincidence that every time we’ve done that, it’s changed the game.Been impressed with Harris when he plays behind Donk, too.
Yes. I guess I'd internalised the "it has to be a permanent outgoing to justify getting a loan in" message some had said on here without ever really checking it was true. Looks like there's more leeway than I'd guessed. Bizarre situation. Glad to have this lad on board.
Harris needs players near him. He just doesn’t work as a lone striker . I wonder if we can repurpose one of the young players to do a few stints up front before hopefully signing a striker in January.I don’t think it’s a coincidence that every time we’ve done that, it’s changed the game.
I think he’s clever enough to move around behind a striker but weirdly not smart enough to lead a line. There was a period in L1 last time we were here where he turned nasty and he was superb, but that seems to have gone from his game. We’d put the ball in behind and he thrived. He’s a grafter but he seems to lack all belief when the ball comes to him back to goal and that’s a real problem when Ramsey seems to want ball to feet. He’s just gets crushed and his head drops.
The difference in O’Donkor is significant. He’s seems to fancy the duels a lot more and if his touch is off he’s got the physicality to nibble back.
The trouble is we have two strikers so managing their workload when we look a better side with both of them is virtually impossible. But it’s getting tougher to ignore that we score goals when those two are together.
Ooh I have a Villa mate, I'll ask himThe view of my Aston Villa mate.
So I suspect that Lynch and Missanga will both get plenty of minutes if playing well.
If it’s Neil, tell him he owes me a fiverOoh I have a Villa mate, I'll ask him
Yeah but we’re idiots.Oxford fans said O'Donkor would never score goals at League 1 level.
