Current Player Thread Louie Sibley

For someone who we've been generally presuming would leave this window (has been out of favour, sent out on loan twice since his arrival, and given a squad number further away from the first XI than he has had the previous 2 seasons) Louis seems to feature in a fair few of the clubs' media output since the players have returned for pre-season training. Is this a sign that the end may not actually be as in-sight as we have been presuming, or more a matter of putting him in the shop window? Or am I reading too much into it?
Despite rumoured interest from Rotherham, I think he will have to lower is wage aspirations for it to happen.

Unless he’s been told it’s a clean slate and he has a fresh chance of first team action with us, I think he’ll soon be off. Sitting on the sidelines for the next 12 months won’t do his career any good.

Or, he gets another loan and stays on full pay!

Or Ramsey likes him, re educates him, and plays him
I do wonder whether the squad numbers were assigned prior to Ramsey's arrival. At the very least, it would have been before he had a chance to personally assess the players. So the squad number change may not actually be any indication of Ramsey's thoughts.

Given how recruitment is done at the club these days then I’d imagine Sibley was told at the end of the season he was going to be surplus to requirements and he would be best to find a new club.
Now his agent may have been working hard to find a new club or Sibley has decided that he will dig and fight his way back into the manager’s plans.

I am sure Ramsay in his interview would have given an indication of what type of player he wanted which is why Kent was then finalised.

It's not unusual for an unwanted player to do most of their preseason with club. Dale and Findlay are good examples from recent seasons. Whether Sibley goes to Spain may be an indicator, though I suspect he will. Dale not going to Indonesia was a bit of a different situation.

Who will be on that flight to Jerez for the training camp in Cadiz starting July 12th. Will Ramsey have a new entourage?
